Meet Rachel Holt

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Holt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was driven by wanting to live a more conscious lifestyle. I started recognizing the ingredients in the products I was using. I changed my routines and daily self-care practices. I realized how much those changes affected my mental and emotional well-being. I wanted to create products using whole ingredients that had a purpose behind them. I gravitated towards the power of plants and I was committed to using organic ingredients and essential oils to help other’s enhance their self-care experience.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In the past year, Love Olive Me has experienced remarkable growth. I like to joke that my business has finally outgrown its awkward teenage phase. Running Love Olive Me involves a lot of work; I handle everything from researching plants and creating products to designing labels, managing advertising, social media marketing, email campaigns, and accounting.
Through this journey, I’ve discovered what works and what doesn’t, identifying the products customers love and discontinuing those that don’t resonate as well. Starting a business from the ground up comes with its challenges, and I’ve learned a great deal along the way, continuing to do so each day. For instance, it took me four batches to perfect the chapstick recipe, and yes, there were tears along the way, but now my customers love it.
Love Olive Me was created to remind and encourage people about the importance of self-care, offering products that help nurture both body and mind.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Our weekend begins on Friday evening at The Century Room for jazz and cocktails. From there, we head over to Batch for tacos—Ruben Soto makes the best tacos around. We usually call it an early night because we need to wake up early to beat the heat for our hike the next morning at Catalina State Park.
At Catalina State Park, we hike down into the canyon to explore the waterfalls and swimming holes. After spending most of the morning there, we’ve worked up quite an appetite, so we head to our cars to find a spot for lunch. With so many great local restaurants to choose from, we often end up at Noble Hops. If the weather is nice, we enjoy the view of the Catalinas from their patio, where we savor a goat cheese and roasted beet salad, paired with a mimosa or a margarita—maybe both.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to thank my Reiki Instructors Betty & Javante Battle with Universoul Healing, for always encouraging me to trust my instincts and visions.
I’d also love to thank my soul sister and Sedona Sisterhood Retreat business partner Leslie Medley for trusting in me and giving me the tools and daily practices to continue working through life’s obstacles.
