Meet Joshua And Nicole Ayala | Mobile Coffee Bus Owners

We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua And Nicole Ayala and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joshua and Nicole, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Growing up neither of us had a lot of money, so we had to budget, and we couldn’t always afford the luxury of going to a coffee shop for a treat. We want to provide a place where anyone can afford to treat themselves and enjoy their time.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets us apart from others is that all of our flavors are actually sugar free (but not that kind that leaves that gross taste in your mouth, actually good sugar free, most people don’t believe it) and we actually care for our customers. We are proud that in such a short time we have been able to attend multiple events, and we have built many friendships. We are excited that we have such an amazing opportunity to wake up every morning and serve our community high quality coffee and other delicious drinks. To get where we are today was nothing short of a marathon, there were days where we questioned if we have made the right choices, but we kept going because we wanted to prove not only to ourselves but to others that with passion and hard work you can do anything. We have learned so much along this journey, such as the business aspect of owning a business as well as how thorough and complete different machines and surfaces must be cleaned. We would want the world to know that even sugar free products can still be good and delicious also that although things might be hard, they are worth it if it is something that you are truly passionate about. You are worth it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many delicious varieties of foods to try we could never experience them all in one week. We would take them down to the London Bridge and walk the channel as well as point out the memorial walkway. We would take them boating and possibly end up across the lake at the casino. We would take them to walk main street and check out all the small businesses there. Depending on what time of year they come, we would find an event to attend with them (there’s always a fun event going on).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We had a lot of help and support from so many people, too many to list, but those who believed in us and supported us exponentially would be Apu. Apu was my grandfather and best friend. Growing up we would go over to his and my grandmother’s house every weekend and before we left, after an amazing meal, he would always ask the same question: “Espresso?”. We would all sit around and enjoy our espresso and have wonderful conversation. Apu was a renowned chemist and is the inspiration not only behind espresso but also the “Pick Ur Potion” name. Judy and Dan, my parents, have been amazing sounding boards for every decision we’ve made both in regard to the bus itself as well as in building and continuing our business. They are the inspiration for the back of the T-shirts “Yummy!! Esta Bueno!” My mother, Norma, has always inspired me to follow my dreams no matter what they were. We would always drink coffee or espresso every morning and have amazing talks about life and my future. She is the inspiration for our Chai “Mamita Special”. Last but definitely not least, we wouldn’t be where we are today without our amazing community, we really do appreciate each and every person that comes up to our window.
