Meet Angela Robbins | Chiropractor and HOTWOX franchisee

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Robbins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always knew I wanted to be a business owner, set my own scheudle and have endless goals to reach. I started my first Chriopractic office at 25 years old and grew it into a very large multi-specialty practice. I was working 12+ hour days 7 days a week and had no work/life balance. In 2019 I decided to sell that practice and find something less time consuming that would allow me to have a better work life balance. Having been in the world of wellness and health, the idea of HOTWORX appealed to the doctor in me. I don’t spend 100% of my life working anymore, but still get the satisfaction of my members telling me about how HOTWORX has improved thier health. Most importantly it allowed me to have my daugher in 2021 and being around for her has been the best decision i have ever made.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I graduated Chriopractic school in St. Louis, MO in 2004. I was 24 years old and ready to get going with life. I knew I would work hard and do whatever it took to be sucessful. 10 years later I had a very busy multi-specialty pain practice. We had an amazing group of providers that included chiropractors, physical therapists, primary care doctors, pain management doctors, accupunturists and massage therapists all under 1 rooof. This model very much set us apart as we had so many combinations of treatments we could use with our patients, We won “Best of Ahwatukee Medical Practice” for 9 years in a row. The practice was very sucessful and I loved what I did, but found that it consumed all of my free time. It was a hard decision to make, but I eventaully decided to sell my practice and take a little time off. I spent 2 years snowboarding, wake surfing and figuring out how to enjoy life again. After that short break, my now business partner, Rodney Brown, brought the idea of HOTWORX to me. I though the concept was brilliant and was ready to jump in. COVID caused things to move a little slower than expected, but we now own 2 sucessful franchises- one in Chandler, AZ and one in Cave Creek, AZ.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am pretty low key, but I would avidse them to visit in March so we could spend half our time in Flagstaff snowbaording and half of our time on the lake. We would probaby get an Air B&B close to the mountain and spend as much time as possible snowboarding. We would hit downtown flagstaff for dinner and explore the town. After returning from Flagstaff we would make our way out to Saguaro lake where we would wake surf and enjoy a little sun. I’m not much of a late night person, so we would probably head to bed early and get up to workout at HOTWORX in the morning.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my story to my daughter, River Robbins. Everything I do is for her.
