Meet Jason Ellis | Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Ellis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, is there something you believe many others might not?
You need to have a 3 or 5 year business plan- that’s the advice-
Everything moves so quickly today, so having a 3 or 5 year plan seems like a waste of energy and resources. I prefer 6 month, measurable, known targets. I do not have a 3 year business plan in place due to the need to be fluid.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Rosemary Tree is a mental health therapy and wellness center committed to changing how we experience the healing journey. At The Rosemary Tree, we believe that therapy should be more than just a space to unpack the heavy stuff. While we’re here to help you navigate the tough moments, we’re also here to make the journey a little brighter. By blending clinical excellence with creative modalities, we transform the therapeutic process into an experience you can look forward to.
Our mission is to help you reach your desired outcomes faster, with a balanced approach that honors both the challenges you face and the joy you deserve.
It’s been challenging and rewarding. Being the first one to bust through the wall can be exhilarating and painful. It’s been all that and more. Constant reminders from my support system has been the greatest sustainer of my energy.
We are in a time of increased attention on our mental health. This focus demands creative thinking and practice to help people heal and live their absolute best lives. It starts with the human to human connection (shout out to Claire!) and from that genuine connection we can watch the magic unfold.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Mexican food tour, anyone? Start with Someburros, Otro Cafe and some street tacos at Taco Boys. We’d go for a hike on Trail 100 to enjoy sunrise and possibly sunset in the same day! The Japanese Friendship Garden in downtown would be a sweet moment as well. If money doesn’t matter then court side tickets to the watch the Suns would be excellent.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The top of the list for me is Colter Bloxom of Thrive Therapy for believing in a guy trying to start a 2nd career at Fitty! Thank you for the trust, for the green lights, for the willingness to say Yes. Brian Hines has been a 35 year friend encouraging me, answering business questions, giving life wisdom, buying and selling homes, cars etc… Jan Hamilton is a mentor, a trusted friend and advisor in this therapy journey, and Jan’s husband Bill has guided me towards living in line with my values while always believing the best in people. Billy Thrall has reminded me taking a risk is worth the cost over and over and is always willing to grab a donut. And Michelle, my bestie, my one and only love of 30+ years has reminded me we are walking this tightrope together and “we’ll figure it out.”
