Meet Lynn Dao | Shamanic Healing Practitioner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynn Dao and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lynn, how do you define success?
Success to me is being at peace and content. It’s not an external measurement that can be seen with the eyes. It’s an internal measurement that’s felt in the heart.
When someone is living their purpose and flowing with life, they’re most likely feeling pretty content and at peace. Sure, life may still throw curve balls at them, but they are at a place in life where they can stay grounded and maintain a level of peace and stability, even if things get rough. They eventually find a way to flow again.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My practice is ever evolving as I grow and learn more over the years. I have a yoga therapy background, but as my personal healing and self-development grew over the years, what I do to help my clients heal has expanded.
There are a number of body-based (somatic) techniques and sacred plant medicines that have helped me heal from the sexual abuse that I endured as a child, and these are the very things I use to help others release their own traumas.
A lot of times, trauma gets stored in the body, and in order to heal, it needs to be released from the body.
I used to not believe in ANY of this spiritual stuff and considered it to be very woo-woo. I needed science-backed studies before I believed in things like chakras. As I worked on healing myself and had awakening after awakening, I opened up to experiencing spiritual happenings. The gift of mediumship and seeing arose in me, as well as connection to spirit guides.
I now walk between our physical world and the non-ordinary (unseen) world as I live my life and work with people. My practice is a blend of science backed methods such as yoga therapy and shamanic healing work. In the end, my passion remains in empowering people to clear out past trauma in order to reclaim their light through 1:1 sessions and retreats.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d take them to my favorite nature spots around here including the Salt River to kayak, and the Superstitions for hiking. I’d also take them out of town to explore other parts of our beautiful state, especially towns north of Phoenix. In town, we’d walk around the Desert Botanical Garden, and bike around Tempe Town Lake. Then we’d grab pizza at Bianco’s or really good Asian food in Mesa. Then we’d probably end up at Pickleball Kingdom! Yep, they got me with the pickleball.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer.
When I read this book 6 or 7 years ago, I didn’t get it…went right over my head at the time. However, after doing a lot of personal work on myself, this book completely makes sense to me now and I love how it’s helped me to let go the small stuff and just let life flow. It makes living a whole lot smoother and freer.
