Meet Amanda Orozco | Director & Founder of ABB’s Trade School Scholarship, Owner of Amanda’s Beauty Box

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Orozco and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I believe in giving back. I grew up in Williams, AZ & I still live here because I love this town and the support it has from the community.
My business Amanda’s Beauty Box salon has empowered many with confidence and pride. But I have done the same for the youth. In the past I did free haircuts for students in school that didn’t always have the luxury of getting a professional haircut. It helped many of them have more confidence to get jobs and to just feel better about themselves.
I’ve raised funds in the past for the Williams Rec Center which provides after school & summer programs. And I’ve helped buy uniforms for cheerleaders & other school groups that needed funding as well.
I started Amanda’s Beauty Box Scholarship seven years ago. I provide raised funds to WHS graduates going into Trade or Vocational Training. We just recently became an actual non profit createreactioninc.org
I am a Cosmetologist in a trade, so it’s important to support those students not going to a four-year college. I believe with each success story we are not only helping these individuals, but also the future of the world. We have supported 15+ successful graduates, some that are now entrepreneurs here in Williams, & many that are successful in other cities. I know we are impacting the work force every year a few students at a time, and I am very proud to be a part of it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been blessed as the owner of Amanda’s Beauty Box for almost 17 years. I am a wife & mother of three. My family has always been my priority yet a big support for me in my career. It’s not always easy juggling life & work, but
I am grateful to love what I do, & do what I love.
I am a mover & a shaker. I think there is always room for self improvement, growth and to keep educating yourself. I try to be a leader and I believe that you get what you give, therefore I can’t do much half assed. If it needs to be done I will do it or find someone that can. I’ve had many good & bad experiences along the way, but try to stay focused on the good & the good to come.
Recently life has put up some challenges so I’ve had to make changes accordingly. I am now working part time, but very grateful for my clients & career to be flexible as needed.
I still devote myself to my scholarship, it is a priority, because I know it is sculpting future generations . I’m just finally learning to work smarter not harder. And I am lucky to have all the support that I do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Williams, AZ
We would visit Bearizona, eat lunch outside at Canyonlands upstairs by the jaguars.
Explore the woods so many places to choose from.
Check out the most beautiful golf course in AZ. Elephant Rocks Golf Course (Even though I don’t golf) great place to grab a drink!
Grab a homemade pork Gordita from R&J’s authentic Mexican restaurant.
Grab a beer at the World Famous Sultana dive bar.
Grab Bbq at Frontier Family Restaurant, sit outside & listen to live music.
Zip line or coaster over Williams
Stop in to hear Karaoke at local dive bar Canyon Club.
So many things to do, to see, and to try. The list can go on & on.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out to my supportive community of Williams, AZ. Not only supporting my business, but all funds raised have been because of community support at my events.
Heather Levin Board president & Co-founder of Createreationinc.org has helped me for many years with all my events & has now helped me create this non profit. She is an amazing woman, I am very grateful to have her.
Also my crew the Beauty Box Babes is what I call them, they help setup, take down, advertise, work, etc at every event, I could not do any of this without their help & support.
