We had the good fortune of connecting with Bailey Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bailey, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
While there are many elements that contribute to long-term success, I believe two core principles go hand in hand: resilience and strong client relationships. In this industry, things don’t always go as planned—mistakes happen, curveballs are inevitable—but what defines you is how you respond. I’ve found that when you remain committed, adaptable, and solutions-oriented, clients take notice. They value someone who doesn’t give up when challenges arise—someone who stays with them through the ups and downs.
Since relocating to Arizona three years ago, I’ve built my entire business through word of mouth. That’s not something I say to boast—it’s a testament to the power of trust, consistency, and client care. I focus on being teachable, owning my mistakes when they happen, and always putting the client first. That mindset has not only helped me grow, but it’s also fostered relationships that are long-lasting and mutually respectful.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Becoming an interior designer was never a straight path for me—if anything, it felt like a winding road that led me exactly where I was always meant to be. From a very young age, I knew I had a deep love for design. But life has its own way of shaping our timelines. Design school wasn’t an option for me—it was financially out of reach, and the reality of needing to support myself meant I had to make a different choice. I pursued dental hygiene, which felt like the practical route at the time, and later transitioned into corporate event planning when I realized I needed a new challenge.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere—but perhaps not by accident—a connection I had made years prior reached out and asked if I’d be interested in helping manage and refine the operations of a growing interior design firm. The moment I heard the words interior design, something clicked. It felt like a door that had always been closed was suddenly wide open. I accepted the offer without hesitation, even though it came with a significant pay cut. The opportunity was worth far more than a paycheck—it was the beginning of everything.
Working under the two founders of Remedy Design—two of the most brilliant, creative, and polished women I’ve ever known—was the education I never expected but deeply needed. They not only taught me the craft, but they also showed me what excellence and leadership look like in this industry. I carry those lessons with me every single day.
Now, as a business owner myself, I’ve learned that money will always be a factor—but it shouldn’t be the only compass. Passion matters. Alignment matters. If something comes naturally to you, pay attention. Lean in. You can always figure out how to make money doing what you love—but first, you have to be willing to start. If you’re going to bet on anyone, bet on yourself.
What I am currently learning is growth may not always look glamorous from the outside, and it rarely happens overnight. But every step forward, even the messy or uncertain ones, carries value. Knowledge is power, and growth—any growth—is worth celebrating. The lessons you’re learning now will become the foundation for everything you build later. So keep going. Trust the process. And don’t underestimate where your path might take you—even if it looks different than what you expected.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It really depends on the crowd I’m with—I like to think I’m pretty go-with-the-flow. I’m always down for a good hike, some sightseeing, a little friendly competition in pickleball, or hunting for the best new food spot in town. But if I’m being totally honest… I love a good shopping spree. Like, give me a free afternoon and a few cute shops, and I’m in my element.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It’s hard to put into words just how much the people in my life have meant to me on this journey. My husband has been my unwavering foundation—my rock. He believed in me long before I believed in myself. He encouraged me to start this business, and he’s been right beside me every step of the way, showing up in the moments that mattered most, often behind the scenes and without recognition.
And then there’s this incredible circle of mom friends—women who have stepped in, without hesitation, to watch my son while I navigate the growing pains of building something from the ground up. Their kindness, their time, their quiet support… it has meant everything to me. I genuinely don’t know how to fully express what their help has allowed me to do. Because of them, I’ve had space to think, to build, to dream—and to keep going.
I’m still figuring it out, still learning every day, and I have a long way to go. But I carry this deep hope of becoming one of the best designers out there someday. And if that happens, it will be because of the people who loved and believed in me when I was just getting started. I’ll never forget that, and I’ll never stop being grateful.
