We had the good fortune of connecting with JJ Briles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JJ, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind Stellar Adventures is the guides. Without guides/staff that share your vision and passion for the product, the brand wont succeed.

What should our readers know about your business?
Stellar Adventures is starting its 29th year of offering guided desert offroad tours to the visitors and locals in Arizona. Being an entrepreneur can be very difficult but also very rewarding. In my opionion the key is being able to adapt. More specifically, to be able to adapt on the fly. There are so many factors in the tourism industry that you just cant plan for. We have been through 9/11, reccessions, forest fires, and a global pandemic. None of these can be expected so you have to adapt quickly when they happen.

Stellar Adventures is a family owned and operated company, We are a team that must work together to reach our goals. I believe if you treat your team like family it helps them invest in your vision.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a sports guy. I love to go and support the local teams. We would definately be attedning the Suns, Mercury, Diamondbacks, Cardinals, and/or ASU games. I love everything about the atmospere and the experience.

We would be dining out alot too. I love Frashers’ Tavern on Old Town Scottsdale, Fellows Osteria, SEL, the Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails.

Also, a big fan of speakeasy bars. We are lucky to have several greast options to discover in the greater Phoenix area.

Lastly, we would be enjoying the therater. Phoenix Theater, Gammage, Herberger, etc. We are very lucky to have such an amazing theater scene here.
