We had the good fortune of connecting with TJ Temper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TJ, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My Success comes from creating a personal, authentic and faith driven fitness community. Where people feel supported, inspired, and guided toward real transformation of Mind, Body, and Spirit.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
* At TJTemperTraining, I believe fitness is more than reps and sets—it’s a journey of mind, body, and Spirit transformation. I exist to empower people to break through limits, build strength inside and out, and create a lifestyle they’re proud of.

* Fitness has always been part of my life. Growing up, I played sports and intramurals in College, always drawn to the discipline, teamwork, and energy that athletics bring. After graduating from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and a minor in Exercise Science, I stepped into the fitness industry—and I’ve now been working in gyms for over 20 years.

But my professional journey is about more than sets and reps. Seven years ago, I quit drinking because my life had become unmanageable. That moment changed everything. I dedicated myself to putting only healthy things—in body, mind, and spirit—into my life.

That same commitment I made to myself is the commitment I make to my clients. At TJTemperTraining, I don’t just change bodies. I change lives. I build mental toughness, spiritual strength, and physical health—all rooted in faith, discipline, and purpose.

If I hadn’t made that decision seven years ago, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you, God, for giving me the strength to transform my life—and help others transform theirs.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Start the weekend on Friday evening by heading straight to a Liberty Lions football game and soaking up that classic under-the-lights Friday night energy. After the game, keep the night fun and casual with some of the best pizza in town at Barro’s Pizza.

Saturday kicks off with a hearty breakfast at Hash Kitchen in Peoria before hitting the road for a full day of adventure in Sedona. Hike iconic trails like Cathedral Rock or Devil’s Bridge for unforgettable views of the red rocks. For lunch, stop at The Open Range Grill and Tavern, where you can enjoy great food with panoramic mountain scenery. If time allows, cool off with a visit to Slide Rock State Park for some cliff-jumping and swimming. On your way back to Phoenix, make a detour through Jerome and grab dinner at the famous Haunted Hamburger — a perfect ending to a day of exploration.

On Sunday, begin the day with a service at Dream City Church for a meaningful, faith-filled start. Follow it up with a relaxed brunch at Overeasy, then wrap up the weekend with a quick workout and some NFL football to wind down before the new week begins.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

Whether you’re crushing PRs, staying consistent through life’s chaos, or just showing up when it would’ve been easier to quit… I see you. I’m proud of you.

This journey isn’t just about muscles and reps—it’s about building confidence, mental toughness, and a lifestyle you can be proud of. Thank you for trusting me to be part of it. We’re just getting started.
