Meet Samantha Karim | Coach, Speaker, and Belly Dance Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Karim and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Authenticity. It has never steered me wrong. By being myself, it has created a space of honesty, compassion, kindness, and boldness that has allowed my business to not only thrive, but also have significant impact and a high client retention. People want to deal with genuine, honest people. Not someone who acts differently behind closed doors. It also gives space and allowance for others to do the same. I’m not the only authentic one in my business. My clients are too. My students/clients once told me the reason that they feel so comfortable with me is in part due to my cursing. Lol!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love what I do!! Absolutely love it! I’m a life coach, speaker, and a belly dance instructor/performer. I’ve been teaching women belly dancing for 19+ years and although I’ve been coaching students for 10 years, I recently opened my coaching and speaking business to focus on high-achieving/perfectionist women. It’s my mission to help women reclaim their power and confidence so they can live a life full of joy, deep satisfaction, and aliveness! Because of my dancing and coaching career, I’m able to offer a unique perspective on confidence, body confidence in particular, and fear. As someone who has experience with anxiety, people-pleasing, and perfectionism, I have learned how to work with these parts of me and now, teach what I know to the world.
Building businesses has never been easy for me. It’s not for many people. I had panic attacks, constantly felt like a failure, and often questioned if I would ever succeed. But through putting myself out there and practicing the skill of confidence and not being stopped by fear, I have been able to show up and help the community I serve.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to a couple of my favorite bakery and coffee shops – Essence Bakery and LGO. We’d chat and sip on great coffee before continuing the day. Hiking is a must here in Phoenix. I personally love Quartz Ridge so we’d be headed there to overlook the entire city. Places we’d eat throughout the week are China Chili (Chinese Food), Harumi (Sushi), Tacos Veganos (Great Vegan Mexican street food), and the Detroit Style Truffle pizza at Fly Bye.
I love walking…1st Fridays in Phoenix are great to see local art and talk to vendors. Tempe Town Lake is a great path to walk and talk and see people skateboard, bike ride, be with their families, and just hang out. Our Zoo is pretty amazing (I have a membership there) so we’d be popping by to see the elephants and zebra. We could go shopping or use that time to drive to Sedona and see the beautiful red rock. And of course, I would cook for my bestie, chill at home, go to the pool, and just relax. Spa Day at The Princess is always an option too.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! I want to shot out to my husband, Soral. He has been my advocate, my sound board, a guide, and a true best friend. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met and I know for a fact I wouldn’t be where I am today with him by my side.
