We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariela HaLevi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariela, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I would love to tell you about my business and why I am so passionate about guiding women in midlife. My healing and guiding practice, Soul Centered, is a spiritual center for individuals seeking meaning, purpose and healing in the Afternoon of Life (midlife and beyond). Soul Centered was created by myself and my husband, Baruch HaLevi, to provide a place for anyone seeking to consciously face the crossroads of midlife and courageously journey through the Afternoon of Life. We see people both in person and online in group and individual sessions, as well as speak, teach, and educate through podcasts, programs and much more. People often think of women in the midst of a midlife crisis as something to be feared, hopeless and hormonal, wrinkled and forgotten, and lost and lonely. It is often seen as a time when bodies change, when our emotions feel like a constant roller coaster, and our relationships go through loss, upheavals and a we experience bouts of crying and rage. However, midlife is an awakening, and an opening to true healing for any woman (and man). The Afternoon of Life (as Carl Jung coined it), is a time of FIRE. Fire, as in transformative light, and the burning away of obstacles and any debris. Fire, as in burning away who you thought you were, and uncovering new answers, visions and transformation. Fire, as in burning the old beliefs, vows and blocks that keep you small and disempowered. The Afternoon of Life, for a woman of any stage of midlife, is the shedding of the layers of fears, insecurities and resentments that we have built up over our lifetime followed by a new, true identity, and awakening to who we truly are. Many women feel like their body has betrayed them, and feel trapped in a body that they don’t fully love and understand, no matter how many yoga classes and affirmations. They may feel deeply triggered, as if they are walking around naked in the world, witnessing their fears, insecurities, and resentments come boiling to the surface. Or maybe it’s deeper than that. They may ache to transform their lives, to become the wise woman under trapped emotions and limiting beliefs that hold them back, and perhaps feel lonely and disempowered. Women may feel lost in their relationships, unable to find your voice and worthiness. These midlife fires all have one thing in common. Underneath all of the burning is the call of our souls. This is a spiritual awakening, even if we don’t know we are having one. This is the call to healing, learning the lessons and facing our shadows that are being shown to us for this lifetime. The call of the Afternoon of Life is to burn through these beliefs, experiences and insecurities, so that we can listen to the call of our intuition, our truth and our empowered self. In energetic terms, this is a call for an energetic rebirthing, a shift in our bodies, relationships, careers, families and our soul. It is the Universe banging at our door to finally listen to the call of our spirit. It is a call to awaken to realize your soul purpose and finally live her fully and fiercely in the Afternoon of Life. This is why I guide women in the Afternoon of Life to reawaken a deep connection to their soul and discover their spirit, to heal, transform, and feel empowered in their lives. Midlife is about living and healing and remembering that we are whole and not broken.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In my role as the Director of Healing and Co-Founder of Soul Centered, a spiritual center for individuals seeking meaning, purpose and healing in the Afternoon of Life (midlife and beyond), I guide women to reawaken a deep connection to their soul and discover their spirit, to heal, transform, and feel empowered in their lives. After my own midlife awakening, triggered by my struggle with auto-immune issues following my fourth pregnancy, the terminal diagnosis of my mother, and ultimately being crushed by the grief of my mother’s death, I developed Soul Empowered Healing, a pathway and program to assist women at midlife and onwards. With a Masters in Social Work, a health coaching certification, energy healing and soul guidance certifications, I am uniquely qualified to lead women on their journey to physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I have been working with clients for nearly twenty years and offer a combination of one-on-one virtual healing sessions, optional small group sessions, online webinars and speaking events, and a host of supplemental, customized support materials in my programs. Utilizing energy healing, intuitive guidance, healing visualizations, spiritual counseling, and soul retrieval guidance, I have designed a transformative process that empowers women to live their soul purpose in the Afternoon of Life. Facing my own midlife awakenings and healing ancestral lineage traumas, childhood wounds and old beliefs, is what gets me so excited about working with midlife women: to know that we are all wounded healers. When a woman reaches the Afternoon of Life, she will experience a crisis of soul, experiencing the transitions, turbulence, and trials of midlife. This is the call to healing, learning the lessons and facing our shadows that are being shown to us for this lifetime. I have learned from my personal struggles and perseverance to heal, that women in midlife need a guide to help them remember that they are whole, they are naturally intuitive, and they are worthy of love. When I intuitively work with women in the Afternoon of Life, we journey into the body, emotions and spirit to build a solid foundation for life’s trials and tribulations. Through energy healing, guided healing visualizations and intuitive guidance, midlife women feel ready to release old beliefs and emotions that no longer serve them in the Afternoon of Life. They are ready to enter into their Queen stage of life and own their divine wisdom. My why for building this business with my husband, is for all midlife people to know that they are not alone in the awakenings of midlife. We all need community, support and guidance. Soul Centered was created for this purpose. When I struggle with the balance of being an entrepreneur and mom of four children, I use my own healing guidance, meditation, and intuition to center, guide and balance me in all aspects of my life. The balance is not easy, but I am a better mom and healer when I ground myself in energy and intuitive guidance and remember that life is a spiritual journey, and everyday is a choice to live on purpose.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend came to visit, I would drive them straight to the beautiful Colorado mountains! Whether it’s hiking, skiing, biking or stand up paddle boarding, Colorado offers the most breathtaking views and picturesque mountains that will inspire you. Steamboat Springs offer year round hot springs, and Vail is beautiful in the winter for skiing. Aspen is one of the most inspiring places, along with the surrounding areas. Restaurants, hikes, trail runs and more offer the most city person an escape from the hustle and bustle of life. My personal favorites are quiet, off the beaten paths, with little footprints such as, Grand Lake, Crested Butte, and Gunnison National Park. I also love Boulder! The Black Cat restaurant has great food and the main street on Pearl St. has great shopping and entertainment!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be where I am today without my soulmate, support system and partner in marriage, family and business, my husband, Baruch HaLevi. He has modeled to me the meaning of commitment, security, true love, truth, trust, and perseverance. I knew the day I met him that we have a soul connection in raising a loving family of four children, and also in working together personally and professionally to help others live in soul. Our marriage mantra is to always meet each other in the soul, which is why we created Soul Centered. For over twenty years we dreamed of building a spiritual center where people could engage in self discovery and soul exploration, uncovering deeper meaning within their struggles, realize their true purpose in this life, and experience holistic healing through all of life’s traumas and tragedies. Although we built variations of this throughout our careers, and discovered pieces of this in places ranging from synagogues and churches to yoga studios and zen centers, from counseling and healing centers to new age communities across the world, we never fully realized what we were looking for… So, we founded Soul Centered. Many teachers along the way have shaped my inner and outer world. They are: Wayne Dyer, Brandon Bays, John Randolph Price, and Neal Donald Walsh. In their own ways, they have taught me the importance of believing and knowing that Spirit lives inside of us, and how beautiful life is when we dance in our own light, and bring that magic to the world.
