We had the good fortune of connecting with Dante Romano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dante, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Dogs, Family, Friends, Fitness. Dogs never cease to put a smile on my face. Any breed, age, size, I love them all the same and with all my heart. Dogs are always happy to see you so it’s a natural energy reaction to also be happy. They give you unconditional love and only ask for food, treats and pets in return. I have been around dogs since they day I was born, almost 30 years later and haven’t gone a day without them since. I couldn’t imagine going even 1 day through life without petting a dog or taking care of one. Family is the utmost importance to me, without family I wouldn’t be who I am and where I am today without my family. Friends are crucial to happiness because you have fun and lots of laughs. I live by happiness, positivity, motivation. Fitness keeps me happy because it is a good way for me to get some energy out and lift heavy weights. A lot of mental and physical stimulation happens when you workout, it makes me happy and gets me through the day. Happiness is a pillar in life and I think it should be top prioirty, do what you love that makes you happy and you’ll never work a day in your life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Preppy Pet tempe. Dog boarding (overnight), daycare, and grooming. We are Tempe and Arizona’s premier pet resort. Vacation? Work/appointments? Stinky/overgrown pooch? We got you covered. With over 30 years of pet care experience we set ourselves apart with our experince and knowledge in the industry. Preppy Pet has been serving the valley since 2008. Myself and my team took over Jan 1st, 2023. We have done some renovations and improvements to our facility, most notable a fresh turf area for the dogs to run and go potty outside. We have social media and post daily! Everyone on the team has dogs, we treat yours just as we would treat our own. Our pet parents and our furry clients are one big family.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Tempe has grown and evolved over the years. There are a lot of great restaurants and things to do in the city. Chuck box has the best burger in town, Houston TX hot chicken is super good. Postinos has yummy bruschetta, Fate brewing co has great eats and spirits as well. Tempe is great because it is centrally located near Chandler and Scottsdale. Hike up “A” Mountain for a glorious view of the city, you won’t be dissappointed. Mill ave has been a staple since ASU has been around and you won’t want to miss out on all the fun there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There have been many influential people in my life and won’t choose just one. My life has been a culmination of a team effort. I am thankful and grateful for everyone who has been a part of my life and that has made an impact on me. My parents taught me what it means to be a good person. Grandparents taught me hard work. My first bosses, Jimmy and JJ gave me the opportunity in my industry. My first manager, Peggy has taught me everything I know. My right hand man on my team, Tommy has been the greatest asset. I appreciate everyone that has had an influence on my life, I can’t thank everyone enough.
