Meet Justin Berg | Founder & Principal, Luxe Construction

We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Berg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business wasn’t one specific moment. It came from years of experience, mistakes, and learning along the way. I’ve been an entrepreneur since 2015, and this wasn’t my first business. I’ve had ventures that worked and others that didn’t, and every failure taught me something important. Each one forced me to slow down, pay attention, and get better.
Before launching Luxe Construction, my background was on the manufacturing side of the industry, specifically cabinetry. My customers weren’t homeowners, they were contractors. Seeing projects from that side gave me a real understanding of how construction actually operates day to day. I saw very clearly that craftsmanship is everything. The best builders cared deeply about the details, took pride in their work, and held themselves to a high standard no matter who was watching.
At the same time, I also saw how quickly a project can become stressful when communication breaks down. Even when the work itself is solid, a lack of proactive updates or clear expectations can create unnecessary tension. Over time, it became obvious to me that while craftsmanship delivers the result, proactive communication protects the experience.
When I started Luxe Construction, I wanted to bring both of those things together. We don’t just manage projects from a distance. We get personally invested in them. We care about the process, the decisions being made in the field, and how the client feels at every stage. Our team genuinely enjoys the work, from planning and problem solving to seeing everything come together at the end, and that level of care shows in the final product.
On a personal level, building this company is also about legacy. I have a son, and I want him to see what it looks like to build something the right way. Not by taking shortcuts, but by showing up, learning from failure, and doing work you can be proud of. Luxe Construction is a reflection of that mindset and of the standards I want to pass on.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Luxe Construction was built with the intention of changing how people experience construction. One thing that always stuck with me is how rarely homeowners rehire their contractor. Most people are just relieved when a project is over, and that never made sense to me. If someone trusts you with their home, their time, and their money, that relationship should end with confidence, not frustration.
From the beginning, our goal was to build a real brand in the luxury space that people trust, recommend, and refer without hesitation. Not just because the finished work looks great, but because the entire experience feels solid and personal from start to finish. We wanted to create something people are genuinely happy to use again and proud to stand behind.
What truly sets Luxe apart is how invested we are in our clients and their projects. We don’t see this as transactional work. We build real relationships. Many of our clients become friends, and that starts early, during conception, design artistry, and planning, long before construction begins.
That care carries through the entire process. My fiancée and I have personally brought food to clients in the middle of long projects. We’ve stepped in to help with things outside the scope of work, like checking in on an elderly parent when a client was out of town. Those moments aren’t part of a contract, but they matter. They reflect how seriously we take the responsibility of being in someone’s home and life for months at a time.
Craftsmanship is non negotiable for us, but great work alone isn’t enough. How the project is run, how people are treated, and how supported they feel throughout the process matters just as much. We focus heavily on proactive communication, accountability, and being present every step of the way.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that people don’t just want a beautiful result. They want to feel cared for. Luxe Construction exists to raise the standard by proving that luxury construction and genuine human connection can coexist, and that construction can actually be an experience people look back on positively.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since we live just south of Anthem, a lot of our favorite moments are simple. We love grabbing coffee and walking around Anthem Community Park and the lake. It’s a great way to slow down, reset, and let creative ideas flow. That time outside really sets the tone for the day and helps clear your head.
When friends are visiting, Scottsdale is always on the list. There’s great energy there, from the food scene to just walking around Old Town and taking in the mix of design, art, and people. It’s one of those places where you can keep things casual or make a full day out of it.
We also love getting out of the city when we can. Hikes up around Payson are a favorite. The scenery, cooler air, and change of pace are hard to beat and always feel like a reset.
I’m also big into exotic and performance cars, so car shows are a must. Events like the Highline auto shows at High Street and spending time around Firebird Raceway are always a good time. There’s something about the craftsmanship and engineering behind those cars that really resonates with me.
That mix of calm, creativity, and high energy is what makes this area special. You can slow down, get inspired, and still tap into things you’re passionate about all in the same week.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
While I didn’t have a traditional mentor, I do want to give a lot of credit to my fiancée. Luxe Construction was something we talked through together from the beginning, and the push to take it seriously and grow it into a full general contracting business was a shared decision. Having someone believe in the vision, challenge my thinking, and support the risk behind the scenes made a real difference.
Outside of that, much of what I’ve learned came through trial and error. I taught myself over time, and a lot of the lessons came from failing, regrouping, and trying again. Every setback forced me to take ownership and improve, whether that meant tightening systems, making better decisions, or learning how to lead more effectively.
I’d also give credit to the people I’ve worked with along the way. Clients who trusted me early on, trades and teams who showed up and took pride in their work, and even difficult situations that forced growth. All of it shaped how I operate today and how seriously I take the responsibility of running a business.
