We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim B. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kim, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Our popcorn is made with only the best ingredients. Quality and attention to detail are our focus. Each batch is made by hand in small batches in our kitchen. Consistency and quality are what keep our customers coming back.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My husband and I met in Dallas. We lived there for five years. Then due to multiple job opportunities and his seeking to advance in his career, we kept moving to different cities across the U.S. The job I held in the previous city usually wasn’t available or convenient when we moved to the new city. So, I would apply to different companies that I thought would interest me. So a bit of reinventing my career. As a result, I was exposed to restaurant equipment, restaurant supply, retail advertising, recruitment advertising, and exposure to different parts of the country and making new friends. I also have always relied upon my faith in God above all else. The lessons I’ve learned along the way: keep going. Never fear making a decision. Trust your instincts. And don’t sweat the occasional bad choice. Learn from it. You will grow and change in amazing ways that will strengthen you. No matter your job, do it to the best of your ability. Maintain integrity and kindness. Know that your work is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I take visiting family and friends to my beautiful church in Cave Creek followed by brunch at Local Bistro. Road trip to the old mining town of Jerome. It’s been transformed into an artist community with boutiques, bistros, and wine bars. Plus at almost a mile up, the view is spectacular. Next, back in Phoenix, eateries on the list: tacos at Blanco Tacos, burgers at Hopdoddy Burger Bar, pizza at L.A.M.P. Pizzeria, Coconut’s Fish Cafe, shopping in Old Towne Scottsdale, the Promenade, Phoenix General, Clothes Minded, celebrating our “finds” with a glass at Uncorked Wine Bar. A visit to the MIM – Musical Instrument Museum is a must. Hike Spur Cross Ranch and Fraesfield Trailhead. Take a horseback ride with Cave Creek Outfitters. Then home-cooked dinners courtesy of my husband at home. The best chef I know!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our shoutout is to our customers. They are the reason we’re here making amazing popcorn. Their support over the past 8-1/2 years has meant the world to us. They are incredibly loyal and enthusiastic. Our customers rock!
