We had the good fortune of connecting with Jada Lanai and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jada, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued a creative career, because I love to perform and entertain people. It’s so fun, to be able to sing, dance, act, write etc. With acting, I can become a different person and living in that character, gives me a rush of excitement, it’s an amazing feeling. Singing is so fun to do, because I can express my feelings through a song and I love dancing because I feel free with the moves, it makes me happy. Writing is the best thing because I can create a story about anything.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The most I’m excited about at this time is my poem book “The Year of Me”, I’ve been working on it all year, so to finally put it out is really a big rush of excitiment for me! It was hard work, blood, sweat and tears for me to get where I am today, my parents helped a lot to keep me sane and confident. I have learned that a “no”does not mean never, it means not this time, and I’ve also learned patience through this industry that I’m in (and I’m just getting started). I want the world to know that if you have patience, perserverance and you keep believing in yourself, you can succeed in your hearts desire..
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would check out the Sugar Factory for some “Chicken & Waffles and maybe get a good Cookie Monster Milkshake”. We would go to my favorite shopping spots at the Beverly Center, such as Forever 21 & Urban Outfitters” we’ll also hit the “The Body Shop”.
Since we love making content, we would hit Dream Space and Selfie World and back to some good food at The Breakfast Club.
We have to pay a visit to Disneyland and Universial Studios for some good memories and definitely get some good frozen yougurt at my favorite spot Menchie’s!
Lastly we would have to get some educational experience by visiting the Van Gogh Art Exhibit.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout-out my parents and my sisters, they are so supportive of my career and I love them so much, I am so blessed that they are always there for me with encouarging words. Let’s not forget the suck-it-up quotes when I’m feeling sorry for myself or down, I just appreciate them so much!
