Meet Troy Plewa | Tech Account Manager & Personal Fitness Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Troy Plewa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Troy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My brother and I wanted to live the vision of fulfilling very specific fitness goals and serving as a symbol to others like us that they too can achieve certain looks or athletic feats with the right lifestyle. So having a fitness business was our way of living the dream of being an athlete full time and committing to that disciplined lifestyle. Since a business becomes one’s life, it allows for full self expression without anyone telling you not to live your life a certain way.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are most proud of the fact that we found a business model that serves its purpose of enhancing our lives. My brother and I are co owners of the business and experimented with a wide variety of ways to run it successfully. The most valuable lesson we learned is that there is no way in life to live without working hard (assuming you do not have your family/inheritance to pay your bills). Entrepreneurship is not fun, it’s work. So much more work than a job. So until you are making great money during the “side hustle” stage and are working 80 hours per week, it’s not necessary to jump ship and pursue something full time.
The point is, there is great value in being employed, so once you work so hard that you have the work ethic and savings to make the leap, then do so. No need to be in a hurry, just work as hard as you possibly can if you want quicker results.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Old town scottsdale to go out for nightlife or even brunch/casual drinks. Camelback Mountain to get a tough climb
Dobson Ranch golf course to play a round of golf
Vasa Fitness to workout or play basketball
Check out a dispensary and make a fun day trip to a garden or museum after smoking/edibles
Then a board game night, able to hang on the patio since it’s so nice outside!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my family, the CLDP program at JPMorgan Chase, and the original Athletic Truth Group for inspiring and enabling me to successfully pursue entrepreneurship
