We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Iskenderian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan, what do you attribute your success to?

No matter who you are, where you are in life, what you are experiencing, or how you currently view yourself… I SEE YOU. These three words encompass the way I choose to live my life, not only as a reflection of how I connect with others, but how I choose to love myself as well. I am extremely compassionate and care deeply about helping people, which is a significant driving force for the work I do. This greatly enhances my ability to connect with others and allows me to facilitate profound healing transformations while we all learn how to be more playful with life again!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work is one of my greatest passions. I am a Chiropractic Applied Kinesiologist and an intuitive healer, which means I view the body in a different way than most. I utilize various forms of muscle reflex testing and other mind/body integration techniques, to restore function and balance to the body as a whole. The body is telling a unique story, and one of the best things we can do is listen with an open heart. Through my work, I help to integrate unresolved tension in the body and assist others in understanding themselves on a deeper level. This is done through a unique form of bodywork that evaluates not only structural patterns, but also addresses the chemical and mental/emotional aspects of health as well. This provides us with a more in depth understanding of how and why these patterns come to light and how to resolve them from every angle.

Throughout the years, I have studied over 20 different mindful therapeutic techniques and modalities, each of which work with the body in varying ways. This inspired me to create my very own unique method of healing which helps people resolve deeply rooted physical and emotional patterns, and assists in developing a greater understanding of the body while becoming more present and connected with life!

The process of opening and operating multiple wellness centers in different states has been a catalyst for some of my own deepest healing. For me personally, it’s been an opportunity to look within myself and see the areas of my life that I have been resisting or parts of myself that I was neglecting in some capacity. At times, this showed up as doubt or insecurity, but I’ve come to understand that this is just a byproduct of something else, such as lack of clarity, intention, or momentum.

For years I’ve been practicing how to see life through the lens of curiosity and acceptance, and this helps to shift things into the perspective of an opportunity, rather than an obstacle.

Looking back, it’s amazing to see how guided I was through the process, but more importantly to see how I’ve grown myself. Here are three affirmations that I like to use that help me remain both centered and grounded when feeling overwhelmed, while reminding myself to ‘Be Easy’ with life.

Trust – Things are always working out for me.
Clarity – I know who I am and how I wish to show up in this world.
Patience – Be easy with myself and others, we’re all learning.

I am so grateful that each and every day I get to help people feel better, move easier, and think clearer, by learning how to navigate this path of life through both the light and dark parts. I’ve worked with people as young as 1 week to as ‘young’ as 97 years, and love being a part of healing transformations every day!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I love being active, so we would definitely go on hikes and adventures to explore the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, Camelback Mountain, or more of a relaxing vibe at Hole-In-The-Rock / Papago Park. They will get to explore some local terrain as well as take in some great views of the city!

We’ll need to recharge after those adventures, so we can visit a few of my favorite restaurants which include Grassroots Kitchen & Tap, Khao Thai & Sushi, and Original ChopShop. I know they’ll get to enjoy some delicious food!

Lastly, most of my friends have their own movement and mindfulness practice at home, so it would be fun to take classes together at CA Yoga Barre, Modern Yoga, and unwind with some Face Yoga with my wife Kat.

This is a great reflection of how I enjoy spending my time, and I would love to share this with any of my friends who visit!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate this shoutout to my radiant wife Kat. Since the moment we met, she has inspired me to shine my own light in the most authentic way possible while staying true to my heart. She is one of my greatest inspirations in life and has shown me the embodiment of unconditional love.

Kat is an incredible teacher and healer herself, and reminds us all to find the beauty in the small things in life. She teaches yoga and face yoga classes, leads workshops and retreats, and creates life-changing personalized essential oil blends.
