We had the good fortune of connecting with Nichole Maddox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nichole, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote is dreaming, after all, is a form of planning. It means so much to me. You can dream anything, but more importantly, it’s what you do after that dream that will define who you are. When we think about our goals and aspirations, we have to think about planning them and where we want to be with them by a certain time. To me, when you dream about the way you want your life, your are also are putting a plan behind it. I love that it basically says, no matter what you want in life, you can get it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a video creator allows me to be free. I get to share fun ideas with my audience and give them tips and advice about life in general. I think what sets me apart is my authenticity. There are too many video influencers on the internet that seem to create content for the views, rather than giving their audience realness. When I create content, I create for myself and for my audience, because that’s what’s important. I am most proud of my growth and vulnerability. I can be open and transparent with the people who watch me, rather than being some fake and un-reachable. I still have a long way to go to get to where I want to be professionally, but it is definitely worth it because I get to do what I love while inspiring others. I just kept pushing through each challenge I faced. The road to success is never easy, but as long as you keep putting in the hard work, you will achieve it. I want the world to know that my brand is representative to me: just an everyday, millennial mom who is trying to navigate life one day at a time. My brand is about inspiring other millennial moms to go out there and be their best selves and enjoy life while doing it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place we would visit, would be Hash Kitchen. We would definitely stop for brunch and mimosas. After that we would go back to my place for a midday siesta and then hang out the pool for the rest of the evening while enjoying some food on the grill. For the rest of the week, we would definitely get up early on morning for a hike, head to Scottsdale Fashion Square to do some shopping, and find a few local restaurants to eat at. I would also take her to Lake Havasu to cool down and have a fun day on the lake. And maybe even take a trip to the Grand Canyon.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
One person, outside of my parents of course, that has been a supporter and an encourager, is my husband. He has literally seen my thought process and my action behind building my brand. He has always supported and never doubted any idea I have brought up to him, and has always encouraged me to go after whatever it is I want. He’s truly my life partner.
