We had the good fortune of connecting with Jade Myles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jade, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose to persue a creative career because photography is something I am very passionate about and good at. I figured if I spend most of my time capturing my own moments on camera, why not offer this service to the world? Being able to show someone what I see is a beautiful thing to me. I have been taking photos all my life, but finally decided to launch my personal photography business in the year of 2020 due to the death of my little sister, Melissa.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I take various types of pictures from portraits to micro shots, but what sets me apart from other is my drive! I strive to be the best that I can be and that shows in my art. Anyone can pick up a camera and snap a photo.. but not everyone can pick up a camera and make magic. Ive always had an interest in taking photos, but I did not start out THIS good.. it took alot of practice and errors along the way. I was enrolled in photography courses throughout high school and continued to educate myself in my free time via research. Don’t let anyone tell you you CAN’T do something, everyone starts somewhere.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite spots in the city is Long Wongs. If you are unaware of what Long Wongs is, it’s a wing spot. In my opinion, they serve the BEST wings in the city. If I could be a Lemon pepper hot drumstick, I would!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my little sister Melissa. Melissa was taken away from my family on 05/20/202 in a tragic murder. Months after this happened, I got this urge to launch my photography business (Kalee Photography) in memory of her. Prior to this, I had been certified for about 5 years and never took my passion serious… but I strongly believe things happen for a reason and Melissa was my reason. Thank you sister for giving me the strength to keep your image alive along with my passion 💛
