We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesse Chavez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jesse, what do you attribute your success to?
Our brands success is due in large to the experience we provide. Unlike most of our competitors we distinguish our brand by bringing in a more relatable and invaluable product. Our product is more about the journey and growth of each individual athlete vs the outcome. The brands tagline is “Love the sport.” Each individual that goes through our facility has a different definition for what “Love the sport” means to them. Collectively our athletes appreciation of the gym shows through and achieves what most programs cannot.

What should our readers know about your business?
While developing my brand I came to the conclusion that I truly wanted something different. So many businesses similar to mine have the same exact aesthetic and marketing strategies. I focused more on current social trends floating around the media when developing the brands image. A good example was our focus on development vs outcome. This approach has allowed us to host leadership workshops and self appreciation exercises for all of our athletes.

I am extremely proud of all of the athletes who have grown through the gym over the years. They have achieved what a lot of athletes cannot in our industry.

I got to where I am today by failing. I failed in different ways, learned the lesson, took whatever it is I needed to take from the situation and continued to push forward. The entrepreneurial journey is not easy at all. One of the major obstacles I faced at such a young age is the covid pandemic. We received so much support from the communities we serve. There were a lot of mental hardships during that initial lockdown that I’m sure a lot of business owners experienced.

An important quote I take with myself is “Never take life personally and never take what people say personally either”. We are all trying our best everyday and so we all deserve the same amount of grace throughout the day. Life will continue to happen. The bad. The good. All of it. So if we can remind ourselves that nothing is personal we can continue to push forward with a more level headed mindset.

One thing I would like the world to know about our brand is that you will achieve a level of appreciation in this sport that no one in the industry can provide. Our approach and coaching is different. Ive worked with programs big and small and there truly isn’t a company like ours.

On the personal side. I want every low income class child to know that anything is achievable, you can also make it. When things seem impossible that usually means you’re headed in the right direction. Become a problem solver vs a problem over thinker. Some of these things are easier said than done. But if I could do it you can do it too. As long as you approach everything with an authentic heart and good intentions you will always shine through.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Downtown phoenix has so many fun and delicious spots to eat. One of my favorite places to eat at is Blanco Cocina + Cantina. My overall favorite part of the city and places to visit were the restaurants in downtown!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Spring CDT owned by Lisa Aucoin and Kenny Feeley has shown immense support over the years to our brand. They’ve watched us slowly evolve over the years.
