We had the good fortune of connecting with Angelique Overton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angelique, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My name is Angelique and I am an Arizona mom of two beautiful children that are the love of my life and my reasons for living. They inspire me every day to be better, stronger, and wiser. For this reason, I want to leave a legacy in my name for them. I want them to know the meaning of having pride in what you produce and have an impact on people’s lives. As someone who struggles to love herself and has dealt with self-esteem and self confidence issues my whole life, I knew it was time to overcome these fears and I want to help other women along the way to do the same. I have the biggest heart and I love to see transformations and glow ups in people, it gives me such joy and satisfaction. I want to be able to do this for women in my business by helping them find confidence in my cosmetics. Angelique Beauty is on a mission to have closer customer relationships by empowering women’s inner growth to understand that the spirit of beauty is rooted in confidence, both inside and out.


Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets my business apart is the symbolism of my brand logo and my intention. A Phoenix represents rebirth and new beginnings. I wish to inspire other women like me to rise, and become the best version of themselves possible. One of my biggest goals is to see glow-ups and transformation in people. I want women to apply my beautiful products on the outside to feel glamorous and confident on the inside. My personal story shapes the majority of why I chose to do what I do. One of my first clients, Jessica Bargenquast of LadyChangeMakers, had never purchased lipstick before and made her first purchase with one of my bold lipwear products. Now I see her rocking a variety of lipsticks consistently like it’s no big deal and I love the confidence that grew in her from applying lipstick! I have seen her blossom into a bold business woman that is ready to conquer the world and it brings me pleasure knowing that I was part of her story. I believe this value is available to everyone and I want to share it with the world!


Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support of my family. They have been my biggest fans and cheerleaders from the beginning. I also attribute a ton of my success to the beautiful entrepreneurial ladies of the Powerhouse Women community. Growing up, I didn’t really have a mentor to look up to and model my life or business after, so becoming a member of this girl gang has been a lifesaver and anchor for my growth and well-being. From the words of Lindsey Schwartz who is an author and community builder “You are not meant to do business (or life) alone.” This has become my foundation and motivation for my business. Don’t be scared to ask for help if you need it. Take those small bold uncomfortable steps to grow and push yourself. Every big vision has humble beginnings that are not often expressed or shown and I have found comfort and resilience in these women.
