Meet Alexandria Roberts | Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandria Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexandria, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
There is a lot of creativity that goes alongside modeling, which allows me to have a creative outlet. The little things like planning hair and makeup, or even the big things like themes and locations. Why I really got into this industry was to be apart of the magic of portraying fashion as art in the way someone else has envisioned.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Lots of people have a love-hate relationship with the modeling industry; I am one of the few who loves it! This industry has a lot of different misconceptions, and of course anyone is entitled to their own opinions. Unlike how others may perceive modeling, I see it to be a confidence booster rather than something to tear that down. Through each casting, photoshoot, runway, etc, you get to see yourself glowing and conquering what you came for, at the same time as learning yourself, your style, your body, and to continuously perfect your craft. I am extremely proud of what I have been able to accomplish in my short time with little to no guidance. My success is in my own hands! Which means the journey is much more complicated and much more meaningful. Indie one of the biggest things I’ve learned along the way, outside of professionalism, is to be gracious with myself. Being a model can be very intense and critical at times. I like to remind myself to treat myself like my own best friend and look at my life from an outside perspective.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The great state of Arizona has a lot to offer. No matter the direction you head in, there will always be something to do. If I were to show a friend around for a week, I would want to start off by heading north. Stop at Montezuma’s Castle on the way up to Sedona. In Sedona, enjoy some hiking to absorb the beautiful red rock scenery, eat, and relax. The continue more north and find my way up to the Grand Canyon, one of the 7 wonders of the world. After exploring the north, we would make our way back down south to pay Tombstone a visit. Take the opportunity to indulge in the Wild West that Arizona once was. After a long week of exploration, we would finish off in Scottsdale. Visit the worlds largest Harley Davidson then head to Old Town area for food and drinks.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would be honored to dedicate this shoutout to my mom, Sandra Amaya. She has single handedly supported me in everything I do. She’s an outstanding human and I am so lucky to be her kid!
