We had the good fortune of connecting with Parul Agrawal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Parul, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Most new or wannabe authors think that they need to have thousands of followers, a huge email list and hundred thousand dollars in their bank to publish a book and rank it as a bestseller. On the contrary, the truth is that most authors first get into the bestseller list on Amazon, Barnes & Nobles etc. and then leverage this title to get more followers, get more paid speaking engagements and more clients for their services.
In today’s tech driven society, it’s relatively easy to publish books due to the advent of multiple self publishing platforms. The difficult thing is having consistent sales for the book. Hence, we should always look at books as our best business card and a way to share our message with the world. If the content is good, resonates with the readers then the book will surely make big waves. The most important thing for Authors is to believe in themselves, their work and have the right mindset while promoting their books.
What should our readers know about your business?
My company is a cutting-edge business consulting platform, serving professionals who seek to reinvent themselves and leave a legacy. We offer turn-key business solutions – from idea to branding, from concept to success. We publish bestselling authors, we grow your tribe, we help them to become the expert authority in their field, build their platform and empower their leadership – with the right mindset, know-how and technology.
I started small as a solopreneur working from my kitchen counter and within four years have now set up offices in 3 countries and helped over 400 writers fulfill their dream of becoming bestselling published authors and professional speakers. Starting a business small with little investment was not easy but at the same time I had peace of mind because I never took business loan or had debt. I would invest a part of my earning back into business and training. I worked extremely hard and used my skills and knowledge to grow. At the same time I believed in giving more than 100% to all my clients. Once I had trust with my clients, they either came back to me for my services or referred their contacts without asking for anything in return. I am proud to say that I have a 99% retention rate with my clients. I strongly believe that ‘collaboration and not competition’ helps us grow. I love helping authors share their stories, message and expertise in a collaborative book. This takes the stress away from authors to publish and invest in their own books, the authors become a part of a very strong network that in turn helps each other grow while I am able to collaborate and partner with like-minded people to publish community books on various topics ranging from wellness to business. This is a win-win for all! The easiest and the best way to build a business is by supporting others and genuinely believing in their growth. Once you do that then the universe gives you back multifold.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I love meditating and being in close association with the nature. We would start the day with a session of yoga, meditation and getting energized from sun rays. Then we would feast on healthy breakfast of green juices and fruits. Later we would go Vortex sightseeing and meditating in Sedona, one of my favorite places in the world. And would end the day with a healthy raw, vegan dinner and session of peaceful night under the starry sky. That would be my ideal life!!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
“It takes a village to raise a child,” this old age adage has been the key in my business. My coaches, clients, courses I took to upgrade my learnings, friends, family have supported me at every stage in my life and business. It’s very difficult to choose one person as everyone I met in my journey so far has been instrumental in my success in ways that I never imagined. I am a big believer in the blessing and power of a higher power, so definitely I would like to give a shout-out to the almighty and if I had to pick one person then it would be my business partner Evita Ramparte who has been with me since day one, guiding me, supporting me and encouraging me to reach new heights.
