We had the good fortune of connecting with Irma Medina Mazon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Irma, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
Imagine living a life where you don’t look forward to your day, your career was not what you imagined it would be. That is when I decided to work on myself. This began years before my business and I believe my company has been a byproduct of all that work I have done internally. It has far the most crucial and most difficult decision I’ve made. Daily I remind myself I have to be the best I can be before I can give my best. Due to this change, my perspective on life has shifted and that has changed me entirely.

What should our readers know about your business?
Starting a new career is incredibly hard but starting your own business, that has no measure of how difficult it is. Self-doubt is my biggest challenge everything else can be learned. With so many resources available now it has never been easier to start a business, keyword being start. That is what halts so many people fear of failure, self-doubt, judgment, and fear of being uncomfortable. I decided to believe in me, to trust that I can do anything I set myself to, and to never stop learning. Self-doubt seems to always creep in and at that moment is when I remind myself I did not come this far to only come this far, errors will be made and a lesson learned is never a mistake.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Growing small business community in Tucson is taking over our culture. I have to recommend everyone shop at Chulas in downtown where you will find many other local shops then you have to contact ViriviriBomBomb to get the best mexican snacks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Your environment can make you or break you. I have been blessed to have always been surrounded by strong women. My Mother my biggest supporter will forever be my biggest life inspiration. I can not thank her enough for all her sacrifices and making me who I am. There is a handful of women who have also changed my trajectory, Zulema Rodriguez and Tiffany Nakatani. Never would I have imagined the impact they have had on my growth. They are both incredibly strong beautiful souls that change the vibe of any room when they walk in. They have influenced my growth and I am blessed to call them my sisters.
