Meet Rainee Favela | Graphic Designer & Multimedia Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rainee Favela and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rainee, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
How does one know whether to keep going or to give up? Quite honestly it is a battle for balance. For those who have a driven mentality like myself, it’s easy to invest all of your energy into a project that doesn’t give enough back in return. I choose to keep going until I see those red flags that are telling me that “this is more of a process than a payoff”.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Initially art was a casual talent of mine, I would stay in my room for hours and create comics as a kid. It was a fun escape from reality that turned into a career interest once I reached high school. From there, I excelled my focus on educating myself about digital programs and the conversion of traditional art into graphic design and additional medias. While it was a challenge teaching myself It felt exciting to add on more tools to my kit while also gaining a new love for art. Unfortunately, the main battle I struggle with when I started applying my talents in the workforce, was respect. As a 2o year old who is still in college, sometimes my experience isn’t enough for those who choose to work with me, which unfortunately stunts trust in the client/work relationship. I learned that patience truly is a practice, and that sometimes it only takes one person to believe in you, there is no rush to have the interest of the masses just yet.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When you hang out with me I don’t have the typical plan you would expect from a 20 year old female. My “ideal day” itinerary would consist of :
-Exploring a large Dollar Store with my friends and purchasing what ever we can get with $10
-Spending time at the local pinball arcade
-Grabbing a big box of Crumble Cookies
-Heading over to the local comic book store
-Hosting a photoshoot of them around sunset
-Ending the day with chatting, music, video games, and anything else within the home

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my shoutout to all of the amazing creators who are independently pursuing their passions
