We had the good fortune of connecting with Chevis Trotter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chevis, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process with starting We Handle Your Business was to help people along the way properly manage and grow their business.

What should our readers know about your business?
We Handle Your Business is a one stop shop for business owners, it is the place people can come to figure out whatever they need for their business. Ranging from business consulting, to websites, to entity formations and document preparation, it WILL be the Amazon for business owners on a large scale throughout the nation.

I worked in the legal field 7 years as a paralegal handling many areas of law: family, estate planning, asset protection, tax, tax planning, business formations, credit repair, bankruptcy, debt settlement, trademarking and MUCH more. I truly learned the ins and outs of not only legal document preparation but being there for people in need of help and having compassion for the people who were wealthy and those who were losing their home or needed to file bankruptcy. After working at this firm, I was put in an awkward situation that allowed me to grow in ways I would not have dreamed of. I helped start a firm from scratch using my skills from the previous firm and turned it into a million dollar business after they were in business for 10 years, I did it in three DURING COVID. I realized my own worth and potential and decided to help people who don’t know all the small things needed to start and manage their business. The law firm environment is not for the weakhearted, neither is being a business owner. I wanted to create a space where I am with my clients along their entire journey, assisting with whatever they need to accomplish their goals as a business owner.

The lessons I have learned so far in business ownership is that one mistake shouldn’t break you or shut you down, you have to keep going and pushing through. Believing in yourself is the number one element in surviving entrepreneurship and to always treat people with respect. Also, all business is not good business, discerning the right people whether they work with you or you work for them, mental health is highly important so making sure I have quality clients and I am in good quality is a must,

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, at age 33, I would probably book a room at talking stick for a few days, hit the pool and go out in Phoenix for food and dancing, Hannys and crescent lounge or a fun place downtown (Cobra Arcade Bar is my favorite they have the best music to dance to)

I would then probably make sure we went up north to flagstaff or Sedona to be in nature, near water, hike and have drinks and eat yummy food. We would have to have a family day because they would of course want to see them and I would have my mom cook and just spend as much time together as we could.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my Shoutout to my Mom – Gwen, she has held me up and taught me how to get through the hard times with grace and compassion for others and myself. I would not be where I am today without her care taking, love, honesty and unconditional love.

I would also like to dedicate this to Dallis – my daughter who is the reason I go so hard in life and continue to grow and develop as a human, a mother, friend, sister, partner and business owner. She is an amazing kid and she has expensive taste so I have to make sure I am able to give her everything she needs to have a easier life than I had.
