We had the good fortune of connecting with AnnMarie Aguirre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi AnnMarie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
What really inspired me to become a photographer was my mom. When I was a child she was always taking photos and she was always capturing those memories. When I got big enough to use a little kodak throw away camera, she started getting them for me so that I could capture memories as well. That progressed slowly over the years (we didn’t have a lot of money back then). Many years later and thousands of memories later I got my first 35mm camera when I was in high school & I was also taking photography classes. My favorite part of the photography classes was that I learned how to develop my own photographs. After that I got my first of many not so great digital cameras. Through all of the years my mom has fully supported me and helped me make my dream come true. She really is the main reason for Double A Photography & Co. becoming what it has today. I can’t wait to see where we will be as we continue to move forward!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets us apart is that we are a family owned and hometown operated company. We just want to help capture memories for everyone and the families who will have those photographs of all of the special memories.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We have so many cool places in Prescott, Az to visit! We have great local places to eat and drink! One of the first places I would say that you would need to go to is El Gato Azul! It is a staple in Prescott and located right downtown! Most defiantly just walking around and going to see the murals around the downtown area. Go hiking up thumb butte, and watching the sunset from one of the highest points in town. Our lakes are all gorgeous, to hike around as well Goldwater lake is one of my favorites to hike!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Jodi Aguirre deserves the most credit! That is my mama, she is the reason I fell in love with photography.
