We had the good fortune of connecting with Gavin Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gavin, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
There’s a recipe for happiness, and everyone has their own unique recipe. My recipe includes creativity, faith, healing, health, intention, learning and presence. Each day calls for a new recipe, most days I usually have more of one ingredient than another or am missing one or more ingredients altogether. No recipe is the exact same each time, but the days when I include every ingredient are always my happiest.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At this moment in my career I serve in three different roles. I am the Content Marketing Specialist for Vkind, a Community Servant for The Churchill, and a Baker for Indulge Irresponsibly. The journey to make it to this point in my career was difficult, and still is from time to time. However, whenever things appear difficult, I always think back to one thing. Manifestation. With my hard work and vision, I manifested each of these roles for myself and I am beyond grateful to be apart of three amazing teams.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There a few places that I hold very near and dear to my heart.
For food it’s without a doubt Little Szechuan, a family-owned restaurant serving up delicious Asian comfort food with an astonishing vegan menu.
For drinks we’re heading to So Far So Good located in The Churchill. Truthfully, I don’t drink anymore, but through working at The Churchill I’ve seen the inspiring care they put into their craft firsthand.
The Desert Botanical Garden is a place everyone needs to visit.
Finally, the best places to hang out are The Marquee or The Van Buren to catch an amazing show.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a handful of important shoutouts I’d like to make.
My beautiful mother, Julie, without your love and sacrifice, I wouldn’t be who I am today. Everything I do is an honor to you.
Tanner Crawford, for being the one who showed me I can live out my wildest dream.
Mike Posner, for being my biggest role model.
Yes Theory, for inspiring me to always seek discomfort.
The LeBron James Family Foundation, for teaching me the true value of community service.
𝘔𝘢𝘯 𝘌𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 by Justin Baldoni, for giving me the permission I needed to begin my healing through the journey from my head to my heart.
