We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle “Honey” Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle “Honey”, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success/the success of my brand is reaching my target customers and motivating them in their professional and personal life. I want them to know it’s never to late to start a business and take on a new venture. I started writing at 45, by the age of 46 I became a self-published author.
Today I’ve writen/published 3 fiction novals, 1 self-help book, and 3 children’s books.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a self-published author of 7 books (3 fiction, 1 self-help, and 3 Children’s books)

It was easy for me to write the stories. The hardest part is probably having the courage to put my story out. I overcome challenges by believing in myself.

I’ve learned if I write it, there is a tribe out there waiting, even needing to read it.

I want the world to know I have a lot to say, which makes for more books to write! This is my legacy I’m building for my grandchildren.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmm Chicago is a huge, exciting city. There is so much to do here. The food here is amazing so I would definitely take my friend out for the best pizza, (Giordanos, Home Run Inn. Lou Malnatis).
Coopers Hawk for wine and food. City Winery for drinks, food, and entertainment.
Maybe catch a show in Downtown Chicago at the Goodman. Cadillac, or Chicago Theatre.
Pose Cultural Art Gallery is a must!
Shopping is another must (malls or the Mag Mile)
So much to do in Chicago!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My children pushed me to want more out of life. Being a teen mom, and having 3 children by the time I was 31. made me want to be an inspiration for not only them, but for other women who may share a similar story.
