Meet Rahshaana Green | Wellness Coach/Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rahshaana Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rahshaana, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
I think this can be a loaded question for many, especially as we’ve all been subjected to societies definitions of what success should be or look like. I personally define success using growth, improvement and alignment as indicators. I feel successful if my efforts and how I’ve been investing my energy has caused me to grow/evolve as a person. I check in to see if I’m improving in comparison to my own past performance in whatever it is that I’m working on or towards. And ultimately, if I am being and working in a way that is in alignment with my purpose….the thing I believe I’m here to be doing….that is success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I didn’t know how best to categorize “my work” as it has changed over the years. I began working in the Medical Device and Science industry doing Marketing, Sales, Business Development, etc. After finding my way to yoga after a car accident, I eventually began to feel a misalignment and lack of connection to my work. I didn’t really know how to shift that, so I began teaching yoga alongside my day job. Gradually I started getting involved in projects that were yoga/meditation/mindfulness related. Eventually, I got the courage to cut the cord and really make myself available for more aligned opportunities to come to me.
What I love about my current work is that everything I do feels interconnected and congruent. I’m the Director of Equity and Partnerships at the Nalanda Institute where I help drive the culture of the organization and community in expanding its capacity for inclusion and equity. I also help decide who we collaborate with to create and provide contemplative programming that helps develop more mindful leaders, more compassionate therapists, caregivers and space holders and more emotionally resilient people. In my “free time”, I also offer independent wellness consultation, providing yoga, meditation and resilience coaching and equity training.
I want people to know that I’m passionate about supporting people in their healing and growth. Life is about navigating the one thing that is constant for everyone: change. That comes easier to some than others and, regardless, it often makes us feel off balance and out of sync. Everything I do for work (both within the institute or individually) helps people find balance, heal and transform in a way that helps them align with how they want to show up in the world.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In addition to my family and close friends who always allow me to show up authentically and as my full self, I’m grateful for Forrest Yoga. This beautiful practice has been a foundation of physical and emotional healing for me, as well as the place from which my meditation practice began. I’m also happy to be a part of the Nalanda Institute (a contemplative learning community) where I’m able to help make transformational compassion and mindfulness based programming available to an ever-expanding community of people.
