Meet Amayah Kilian | Model & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amayah Kilian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amayah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Growing up in a small town, I had to pretend to be this type of person that I wasn’t. Ever since moving to a city I feel like everything I have done for my career has been a risk that I have taken. I have had to step out of my comfort zone, to get to where I’m at today. There is been times where I have had to put my job on the line to get my career moving. Every single day I wake up and take that risk that I am willing to take whatever it is possible to become the successful person I see myself being. What I have learned thus far in life is that you have to take risks to be where you want to be. Every risk that you take is a learning experience.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Modeling is something that I have always dreamt of doing. But it is never something that I thought I would ever have enough confidence to do. I was the kid in school who no one wanted to talk to because I wasn’t “pretty enough.” Once I had moved to Phoenix I had started taking better care of myself and actually focusing on what I truly wanted to do with my life. I had to look in the mirror and tell myself exactly where I wanted to be in this amount of time and I’ve made sure that it happened. Nothing about this experience has been easy everything I have done so far has been brand new to me. I have learned to make connections with people through art. It doesn’t matter if you’re a model, actor, or a painter everyone has something in common with one another. I have met amazing new life friends. I want everyone to know that life has purpose and everyone just needs to find theirs. Never rush the process it will happen when it’s meant to happen.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When it comes to visiting Phoenix I think the best place to stay it would be the Arizona Biltmore. This property is absolutely amazing and beautiful and has so much history to it. It is a historical piece of architecture right in the city! Some of my Favorite places to eat or Diego pops in Old Town Scottsdale, Mona Italian, and RA Sushi. There are so many different types of food options to choose from and they’re also amazing! The best place to get a drink is that the 13th floor rooftop bar in downtown Phoenix. The view is amazing up there! If you want a great place to party I would definitely go to the Entertainment District in Scottsdale! Everyone there is always having a good time. And if one day you are wanting to just go outside the city and see nature you can go float the Salt River! There are so many options for things to do around the city!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shout-out to every person that has stood by my side this entire journey: Briar, Alba, Naledi, Tessa, Mom, Dad, Keyton
