We had the good fortune of connecting with Brenda Warren and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brenda, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
When I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in 2011, I stopped showing up. By 2013 I had to come off my job because I could no longer function in my role as a Director at a Hospital. For eight years, I sat on my couch feeling sorry for myself. One day, I decided to reframe PTSD to mean “Plan To Show up Daily.” That was the turning point that began me on my journey to take my life back. I now have the habit of showing up unapologetically unstoppable daily. This practice, along with self-care and a solid morning routine, ensures I will succeed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When friends came, we would go to the beach. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is a few hours away. It has excellent beaches, lovely restaurants, and many opportunities to sightsee. Within my own city, I would show our beautiful downtown area and enjoy dinner at my favorite Mexican Restaurant Torero’s in downtown Goldsboro, NC.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friends Lisa Ducharme, a Results Coach, Megan Bendtzen, The Dr of Fun, Dr. Denise Sincere a Wellness Mentor, Mandeep Kaur the CEO of Beyond Outsourcing and Jen Gottlieb and Chris Winfield of Super Connector Media created an environment that allowed me to be seen as I relearned how to live my best life. Patrice Francois aka “Mss Francois,” and Celeste Mergens the founder of Days For Girls, help me find the confidence to be my authentic self. My family was supportive and really hung in there as I navigated my way back to life. There have truly been many people that help me find my way back to wholeness. I truly could not list them all.
