We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Swift-Copeland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Luck is the intersection of preparation and opportunity.”

I have spent much of my adolescent and adult life dreaming, learning and training for the opportunities I’ve been presented with as of late. It was at huge financial, and personal risk that we started this business, a calculated risk, but a risk none the less. It’s not luck that has landed us this string of success, but the readiness, willingness, creativity, hard work and sleepless nights that has gotten our team here.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There are millions of people that take photos, maybe billions. Most of those people have made businesses out of their photography, and I’ll even bet that the majority of them are running some type of studio. What sets us apart form all of them is our ambition to prioritize our artists right along side of our clients. The loyalty runs both ways and I think our art and out culture is stronger for it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
SHOUTOUT TO MY TEAM! These guys are everything to me. Not only can I accomplish more with them beside me, but they each possess a unique skillset that this studio simply can’t function without.

Alexis Howard, our post production manager, has been with me since I took the leap into this business, and played a big part in the opening of its doors. She’s been the most stable of voices, the steadiest hands (which she really needs for retouching) and a constant friend through it all.

Speaking of stability, my husband Justin, is probably the backbone of not only this business, but my life. He’s the handyman, moneyman, and our the operations manager. He’s also an amazingly dedicated father to our baby girl, Loraine.

Lastly, Hey mom and dad! look! I’m on the internet! I love, love, love you, and as you know, would fall apart without you both. Thanks also for making my chef/food stylist brother. He’s pretty great too.
