Hi Paul, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think everyone takes risks everyday. It is the level of ones risk at what reward level they want. If all your risk everyday is getting up and driving to work then how are you going to better yourself. People need to do somethings get them uncomfortable. Not physical but get out of your comfort zone in life. I measure my risks in business and take them very all the time. Once you have confidence in yourself and you do your homework risk of a large loss in minimal. I have failed many times but I have succeeded many more times. If you don’t risk in business, life, and love you are just going thought the motions of surviving not LIVING.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My main business is Satellite Advantage, we specialize in Satellite systems for RV’s. We install all the of the automatic dishes and services for Motorhomes, trailers and 5th wheels, even boats and semi trucks. We are in a niche market which has allowed me to focus on my customer and product offering. I am proud of what I have done to supply my family a good living over 32 years. I have meet some awesome customers and have made a lifetime of friends along the way. It was hard working 140 miles from home for 6 months a year. Every decision was mine to make and get right or screw up. Like most business owners there were many years of 14 hour days learning my craft and building a business. I started looking at different opportunities within my town. At one point I have 5 businesses going in one small town. I have learned that enough is enough and family really is what it is all about. you be surprised once you scale back you make the same money with a lot less headache. Do your business right and it will do you right. Everyone should know that My Store Satellite Advantage is filled with employees that are like family. We are here because we want to be. We have been doing this for 22 years at the same location. Online or big box stores can’t compare to Our service and Knowledge. Small business owners and employees make this country and keep towns and city running.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If they are coming to Phoenix for the week I would take them to Lake Pleasant, Drive up north or to the grand canyon is always great if they have never seen it. Take the into Scottsdale for drinks and dinner, Dinners at the house around the pool. Night of Top Golf is always a good time

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have two shout outs to First my father, while growing up I think we butted heads a little but as I grew older my father grew smarter. I realized that Dad knew business and knew what he was talking about. We butted heads because we are so much alike. We have the same goal just get there different sometimes. He has always been there and a solid voice of business and life. He Has guided me though my 32 years in business and been by my side. Second shoutout is to my grandmother who at the right time gave me the boost of capital to start it all.
