We had the good fortune of connecting with Tim Pacatte and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tim, every day, we about know how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

I have been self employed since 2005 and have had many business ventures that I have developed and/or been a partner in developing. My most recent and proudest something that I began conceptualizing in 2019. I had multiple things going on with my professional and personal life. Things that put an enormous amount of stress into each day. A dear friend of mine took me to a center that offered a “Cold Plunge” and after my first experience in that facility I felt something I had never felt before. I began a membership at that business and started to learn everything I could about the modalities they offered. I began developing a concept for a similar center that I could make my own with the help of my business partners. Fast forward to January 2022 and Reset Mind & Body became a reality.

What should our readers know about your business?
Plated Projects is a very unique company. We were all 21-24 years old when we first formed our partnership and although the name Plated Projects came later, our values and mission have always been the same. Because we were so young,  many of our employees were our age, therefore, we were all friends. Some may have seen that as a negative, but we turned that into a family dynamic. To this day we have multiple people still working for us. Each person we hire we make sure that they feel the same appreciation and love that we had for our first team back in 2010. Now Ryan, Jared, Brian and I can’t have a personal relationship with every new hire anymore, but our management team and high-level leaders make sure to treat everyone with respect and care, not just a number, and I think that is why we continue to thrive when so many others struggle in our industries. For Example, my younger sister is the controller of our company, Brian’s brothers run our Over Easy Division (12 units) and Jared and Ryan are brothers so you can see how family oriented we are!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend was coming to town I would immediately take them up Camelback Mountain one morning for the sunrise and probably Piestewa another morning for the man that plays the drums and flute. It is something everyone should do when visiting the Phoenix area. I would spoil them with free breakfast at one our Over Easy breakfast locations before we headed up to flagstaff to enjoy the mountain town that Arizona has to offer. Flagstaff sits at 7000 feet elevation and there are beautiful hikes and scenic things to do. We would of course do a tour at all our restaurants starting off with Taverna Mediterranean Kitchen, moving on to Whisk and Whiskey which has the best browns there are to offer plus an insane menu from our scratch kitchen. At some point we would play Golf at Continental Country Club where we would enjoy the patio of Oakmont – Neighborhood Bar and Grill. Another restaurant we own and to cap off the evening we would hit up the local college bar we own that has a very 70’s/80’s vibe called The Mayor. On the way home from Flagstaff we would stop in Sedona and enjoy one or many of the scenic hikes in the marvelous Red Rocks followed by some delicious beers at Oak Creek Brewery (one of the most popular breweries in AZ). I would love to take them horseback riding in the mountains near cave creek, hang out a local country bar in town called buffalo chip where they have amateur bull riding on Wednesday and Friday nights. Possibly end the week with paddle boarding or tubing the Salt River in Mesa where wild horses are often seen enjoying the cool water.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There have been many people in my life that have led me on a wonderful path in my professional career. Bob Beck, who was a friend’s father in college at Northern Arizona University, became a mentor for me and eventually someone who I call dad. My father passed when I was young so having Bob there to help guide me to make certain decisions led me to my first business venture with the help of my brother Dan. He was the next major influence. We built a successful construction company in the Valley for many years and it kickstarted many of the opportunities I fell into years down the road. Ryan Field is, and will always be, the man that changed my life. He is the epitome of entrepreneur. The man is fearless, has an incredible work ethic and his mind works much differently than anyone else I have ever met. I started off as an employee of his to learn the business which ended up turning into a partnership in restaurant and bars. He brought me, his brother Jared and his best friend Brian Terpay along for this wild ride and together we have built a Company that is currently comprised of 16 Restaurants and 3 fitness facilities, with many more to come.
