We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynnda Pollio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lynnda, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?

I’ve never had a conventional career. I bounced around in my twenties experimenting in different industries, finally ending up in advertising in my early 30’s. From then on, what drove me was my commitment to elevating consciousness. I’ve always had a profound understanding of consciousness, particularly heart consciousness, so integrity and truth were probably my guiding principles throughout my life. I never separated my life and career. What I did for a living was part of my life and the way I lived it. I eventually moved from heading New Business for advertising agencies to immersing myself in conscious business practices, eventually becoming the world’s first Chief Consciousness Officer. Now as a Consciousness Doula, I engage with people and businesses who are committed to doing good in the world and want to understand the role of consciousness in their lives. And to integrate consciousness into business you must be willing be have integrity and look at any truth that arises. The businesses that emerge from that are meaningful and important to our future.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Currently, I am a Consciousness Doula. Consciousness has been part of my existence probably since birth but my awareness of it began when I was in advertising. I realized the reason I was so successful was not because I was so knowledgeable about the industry and so internally politically astute, but instead, it was my heightened awareness of people and what drove them. I was intuitive and a natural communicator at whatever level a client or associate was at so I understood them. My ability to feel and work with frequencies guided most of my career. Once I really immersed myself in the study and practice of consciousness, then I began to understand my success. I tried for years to try to get an ad agency to create the position of Chief Consciousness Officer. My belief was that just as agencies engaged a Chief Technology Officer when digital technologies became part of business, they now needed to engage a Chief Consciousness Officer who understood and could implement the human technologies of wisdom, intuition, compassion, empathy, forgiveness and gratitude. These are frequencies that will be increasingly important in our world to understand and administer. These human technologies will not only create long-term success, but people will be happier, too! There weren’t many others doing this work, as you can imagine. I’ve always been someone who can see where we are going as a planet and a collective consciousness. I finally convinced a global marketing futurist company to create the position for me. I also performed new business but I was able to nest the function into a company for the first time and educate the CEOs and CMOs of Fortune 100 companies about the global transformation that was coming and what would be needed from a corporate perspective. I was grateful for the opportunity. Now as a Consciousness Doula, my intention is to support anyone, group or company who wants to birth consciousness with them or their business. Understanding consciousness is the next frontier for humanity. All of us around the world, and it is a global movement, who are part of this are excited about how it will transform our failing culture into a healthier planet.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

After living most of my adult life and career in New York City, which I love, I moved to Sedona. AZ in March of 2020 just as the pandemic was emerging. I had been visiting Sedona for over 20 years and its where I wrote my multi-award winning inspirational novel, Trusting the Currents. I love Sedona, mostly because I love the earth here. It’s absolutely beautiful and the energy that it is so famous for radiates through everything. It’s truly a sacred place on the planet and I’ve had many mystical experiences here. I almost hate to talk about it because I want to keep its magic quiet and special, but tourists have discovered Sedona in droves now so, the secret is out! Mostly, I’d say get on the land and hike. But bring water and a hat. It’s not Disneyland and people get hurt then they don’t realize this. Wander through West Fork with its giant Ponderosa Pine that smell like vanilla on a hot summer day and cross over the raucous Oak Creek as you watch the canyon above you. You might feel it watching you back. Go early morning and stop at Indian Gardens on the way down the canyon for breakfast or lunch in its beautiful gardens.. Bell Rock is my favorite “vortex” as it has always called to me but everyone has their favorite like majestic Cathedral Rock or mysterious Boynton Canyon or Airport Mesa with its view of Sedona. There are just so many incredible trails here. Breakfast at the Pump House is also one of my favorites as is sushi at Hiro’s. I never would have thought I’d find good sushi in the middle of the high desert, but I did! And I often stop at Layla’s, my favorite bakery. There are many good restaurants here but my focus is always on the land. Of course, check the wineries in Cornville, a farm and ranch town about 20 minutes away. In Sedona, here are many healers, yoga teachers, energy workers, psychics, all kinds of people here for anyone on a spiritual journey, too many to mention. It’s a good place to begin your journey into consciousness but its only the beginning. There was never nightlife here, but with more diversity arriving, we have music venues and bars that stay open later. Still, I would save yourself for the beauty of the day, unless you love to hunt for UFO’s at night, which Sedona is esteemed for. Being still and connecting to the land is my favorite thing to do here because in Sedona, the land speaks to you. It’s the perfect place to come and just disconnect from the insanity of the world and do nothing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

When you choose the path less traveled in life, it can get lonely, so finding others who share your passion and general direction is important so you don’t feel so crazy. I’m sure most entrepreneurs feel that way. In the beginning of my journey into consciousness, there was no one I could talk to about my experiences and vision. For anyone beginning a journey into self-awareness, they should know that a period of isolation is normal. Eventually, I started meeting others and one person who became pivotal to both my growth and direction was Ayelet Baron. She had been a senior global tech executive who also had her ah-ha moment and left the corporate world to explore the deeper realms of life and participate in building a better world. She is also an author, with her amazing F*uck the Bucket List series. She understood the wild experiences I was having and was supportive both to me as the friend she became. She selflessly helped promoteTrusting the Currents and encouraged my work as a Consciousness Doula. We built a powerful friendship and alliance centered on trust, caring and a shared vision for the planet.
