We had the good fortune of connecting with Melinda McCorkle EA and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melinda, what principle do you value most?
Integrity is the principle that matters to me the most, both in my personal and business life. When it comes down to it your integrity is all you have. It makes you who you are. It lets people know they can count on you, that what they see is what they get.
What should our readers know about your business?
True Blue Tax Service is a full service tax practice. We specialize in small business services as well as personal taxes, audits, and cleaning up tax messes. We strive to take the fear and stress out of any tax situation you may have. I began True Blue Tax because most people experience a high level of anxiety when it comes to taxes. I have always loved doing tax work so I saw this as a way to help others in my community. We are constantly keeping up with the ever changing tax laws and learning new ways to best help our clients. I started with a few friends and family as clients in 2008 and have been growing ever since. Clients love our down to earth approach to their taxes and business accounting. We want people to know that we are here to help not long after tax season ends. We are here all year for tax planning, help with IRS or state collections, sales taxes, bookkeeping, payroll and just regular old every day tax questions. We also like to make sure you understand what is going on with your tax situation and feel like you have control of what happens. Taxes, like it or not, are a part of your finances, and we are here to make sure you get the best possible outcome for your specific situation.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite spots in the Phoenix metro area to spend a few hours is the Brass Armadillo- both the Phoenix and Goodyear locations. I love perusing the endless shelves of random treasures old and new. I like to find one of a kind gifts for birthdays and Christmas. If it is a sunny summer day, the Hilton Squaw Peak Resort is the perfect place to lay poolside with a drink, and then walk over to Aunt Chiladas for their wide variety of delicious margarita flavors.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A strong business network is very important to any small business owner. I have been a part of the Northwest Women’s’ Network for several years. (www.northwestwomensnetwork.com) I have received so much love and support form these ladies that they definitely deserve a shout out, My staff is also amazing and I could not accomplish what I have without them, so shout out to Chalice, Amanda and Ellie!!
