Meet Emma Roberts | Cosplayer & Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emma Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emma, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued cosplay and art because I always felt drawn to it. I worked my whole life thinking I’d enter the medical field but art and cosplay were always there for me. When my medical path didn’t work out, I put more time into cosplay so that I could at least try to break even on my costumes. Now my online presence as HeartlessAquarius has grown even larger than I ever could’ve imagined!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My main creative pursuit is cosplay, which is making costumes to portray fictional characters. Think of it as Halloween all year! I love making people laugh and smile with my content instead of just being serious all the time, which I think people resonate with. People know they can find some light with my content if they need it to brighten their day. I’ve been doing cosplay for about 12 years and the hardest part about growing with my online presence is being consistent. You truly grow if you consistently post content, which leads to a lot of creative people to burning out. If you’re able to make a backlog of good content that makes you happy, you’ll find others who appreciate it. I want everyone to know that they should create what makes them happy. Your audience can tell when you enjoy your content and you’ll grow while also being happy.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Where would I take my best friend? Easy! First I take them to Bearizona, which is like Jurassic Park but with animals native to the area. It’s so fun being so close to those gorgeous creatures. I’d also take them to get the best sandwiches and pasties my town has! I eat those all the time and I haven’t found any substitutes elsewhere. If we felt adventurous, we’d pop over to the Grand Canyon since it’s only an hour away. Other than that, I love watching movies and hanging out with my friends. We catch up since I live in a small town and don’t get to see them as often as I’d like.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my parents. As cheesy as it sounds, they were truly my biggest supporters. Not only do they show love to my content and art, but they also helped me by fostering my urge to learn these creative skills ever since I was a kid. Even to this day they assist and support me in ways i am forever grateful for. Love ya mom and dad!
