We had the good fortune of connecting with Billy Gross and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Billy, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
Get a good degree from a well known school then get a job with a Fortune 500 company work hard and in 20 plus years you will be a CEO.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Universally Unknown is an agency that supports the arts and music. There are so many under appreciated artists out there that should really be on the top and need a business model that isn’t the traditional multiple representation and percentages of their income dwindling. My goal was to always be fair and make sure the music and art speaks for itself. Hence the name Universally Unknown.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I mean LA has so many subcultures and is home to so many different cultures from so many different countries. So have to start with food. No trip to LA is complete without Mexican Food, Korean BBQ, Poki and Musso and Frank’s. LA is perfect for a getaway to basically anywhere. Go for hikes, surf, tan, sighseeings the world is your oyster and don’t forget the nightlife and no trip can be complete without catching a show at the Hollywood Bowl or visit some historical venues on the Sunset Strip and beyond. Feel like a celebrity as you will be sure to see a few out when I take care of your itinerary.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Your parents raise you so of course they make you the person you are. But would say my biggest shout out would be to my best friend and support system Miles Quillen, my clients who make me successful and Dottie Wolcott who pushed me to always be a better person than I ever thought I could be.
