We had the good fortune of connecting with River Regan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi River, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I think fear is the main thing that holds us back from going for our dreams. I think I personally had to hit a point where I was just so sick of working a typical 9-5 where I was just like, I might as well just TRY. Who cares if I don’t succeed? Why should other peoples opinions even matter? At least I know I TRIED. I never want to be someone who didn’t even try to achieve a dream or goal or look back 30 years from now and wonder what would have happened if.. So my advice to someone looking to start a business is don’t let fear hold you back from chasing your dreams.

What should our readers know about your business?
Hi! We’re River and Nick Regan. Owners of Alabaster Rentals. We offer mainly ‘design and decor’ related rentals for weddings and events, specifically catering to elopements and micro weddings. We focus mainly on tablescapes and florals but are also branching out a bit into seating areas and vignettes. We are a newly married couple, (just celebrated our 1 year anniversary! Yay!) who have a love for decor, weddings, and community. River, has a background in interior design, and Nick is currently a full-time photographer/videographer (if you’re looking for photo or video coverage for your event check out his instagram, @Nicholas_regan!) We found a love for event design through planning our own wedding last year and decided to pursue the rental industry and share our knowledge with others! We know how stressful planning a wedding can be and our goal is to serve others, and take a bit of stress off the planning process!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We spent the first year of our marriage in the Gilbert area and loved it! We love the restaurants, specifically flower child (the Mother Earth bowl with chicken is delicious) and north Italia (you have to try their appetizer truffle bread). Downtown Gilbert has a great farmers market on Saturdays, which we love, supporting small businesses locally is the best feeling 🙂 River has a love for homemade sourdough so when we don’t make it ourselves, we’ll pick up a loaf there. and we have a passion for health and holistic living, so you’ll typically see us buying our veggies and meats from there! Rock Point Church (in Queen Creek) is such a fun, community filled church, they even have a coffee shop if you’re looking for somewhere to fuel your faith fire while you’re here! If you’re looking for outdoor activities – we love pickle ball and typically go to Gilbert Regional Park to play, or we hang out at the riparian preserve for a walk or run or even biking!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We’d love to dedicate our shoutout to God! We are Christians and know none of this would be possible without the help of God. Matthew 19:26
