We had the good fortune of connecting with Lori Agnew and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lori, why did you pursue a creative career?
For me personally it never felt like there was any other path to take. Art feeds my soul. I just couldn’t imagine a life where I wasn’t creating. I started working in graphic design and eventually started my own business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I make art simply because it makes me happy, I feel it is something I must do to survive. It feels like a basic instinct. Creating connects us all to the deepest part of who we are. Nothing worth doing will ever be easy, but it will always be worth it. We get this one short chance in life to be whoever we want to be, why not go for it? Success is never a straight forward path, obstacles will always be a part of the journey. Enjoy the process.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love nature, history, and food! In Arizona you will certainly find all those things. Start the week with an epic hike somewhere like Antelope Canyon. Eat some amazing authentic Mexican food, See the red rocks of Sedona. Catch a sunset or two out in the desert. Visit the ghost town of goldfield. And connect with amazing artist at local venues of which there are plenty.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If I could thank anyone for supporting my journey, it would have to be my husband Eric. Never underestimate the power of a great partnership. He is a constant source of encouragement and motivation.
