We had the good fortune of connecting with Haley Cole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Haley, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think taking risks are equally essential for success and failure. I believe starting a business (Vital Skin Company) was a huge risk, none the less it was worth it. Taking the risk has allowed me to step into a new role as a business owner & Esthetician. Taking the risk has come with rewards and opened doors beyond my wildest dreams. I operate out of two locations, home base is @ San Tan Village in a salon suite in The Collab and I offer my services to members only on Saturday & Sunday’s @ Power Ranch Golf Club in Gilbert, Az. This has equally been the greatest and most challenging risk I’ve taken in all 29 of my years.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a Esthetician the art of the game is simply people. It’s building a connection and a real relation to them and the life journey they are on and how that has impacted their skin. From the inside-out and from genetics-current daily life choices, including all extrinsic factors (think all UV rays & free radicals). In my business adventure, I am most excited to tap into the space that I am in as I don’t think that anyone has done it yet. Working with the retirement/55+ community has brought it’s own set of challenges. However, it has pushed me to create solutions to problems and get more creative. It has allowed me to hire a medical director to work under and provide medical grade skin treatments that only yield results. The best part of owning your own business and operating solo as the service provider is the growth that has come with it, mind, body and spirit not only for me, but for my clients also as I am passionate about educating them. To be able to show up for my clients weekly is something I can’t really put a price tag on to simply remind them even if you’re 55+, you’re not forgotten.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is a special human in my life who has truly been supporting me and encouraging me to chase my dreams, his name is Kyle and he asked me to marry him, I said yes and our wedding is next October. While in school, Kyle supported me finically while I worked a couple nights a week serving tables & went to school. Emotionally he was there the hard days showering me with love and grace everyday, lifting me up and encouraging me to keep on the path set before me. Physically, meeting me at work after school in the dead of summer to pick up products from me in the work parking lot so they wouldn’t melt in the car. He did all my school laundry, sheets, scrubs, towels, and sent me to school with a packed lunch every single day. I am truly blessed by him and wouldn’t have been able to go to school, finish school and then start a business, without him. Within the business now, he does anything he can to support me and help the business succeed.
