We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Jensen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe that everything we do in life has some amount of risk. It’s a make or break moment with no guarantee that it will pay off. It usually gives me a ton of anxiety but it’s those feelings that drive me to take it. It could open a door to something amazing or nothing at all. Some things are better left with a simply no but I can say I tried. All the risks I have taken has brought me to this exact point in my journey. It plays a major part of my life. The biggest risk I’ve ever taken has changed my career, thought process, and my everyday operation of life. But I can say I do not regret it one bit! As more opportunities present themselves the risks become much greater and with that comes even more changes. Either good or bad, there’s always a lesson to learn.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I create events with an experience! At any event I try and make it as hands on as possible for the individual attending. Most of the events I’ve been to are mainly Focused on the music, which is perfectly fine but I want the individual to feel as if they are apart of the experience the moment they walk thru that door. It’s simple things like a setting a canvas up for everyone to add too, or maybe a door prize. The small things matter and it’s those that make people happy.
Getting where I am today took a lot of hard work, dedication, anxiety, stress, wins and losses, some days I felt like a complete failure and not one bit has been easy. Overcoming the negatives have only been easy because of the solid support system behind me. Without it, giving up would have been so mush easier. I still have so much to learn that sometimes I feel I’m not as progressed as I should be but then I look back on where I started, I’m exactly where I need to be.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is never give up! No matter how much you’ve been taken advantage of, failed, pushed over, stepped on, don’t stop! Dreams are meant to be achieved and if you have one, chase it!
My brand isn’t just about one person or thing, it includes everyone and everything! We’re all unique individuals trying to find like minded individuals in a world of normality. It’s about Creating, learning, and being free with one’s who understand.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Coming here would be ideal in the nicer months of the year. We could go check out cedar point, venture to the various parks in the area to explore the woods, take a trip to the lake and scope the views, maybe hit the indoor water park. There’s plenty to do around here. Just stay away when it’s cold!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is a tough one. I have so many amazing individuals that surround me it’s really hard to narrow it down. So I’d would start with my amazing family. Without the support structure they provide I doubt I would make it very far. My awesome girlfriend who stands behind even my horrible decisions. Definitely my mother as I would not be here without her. My two amazing sisters who never stopped believing and my brother who always made sure I wasn’t involved in some kind of trouble. Also to my grandmother for teaching me the values of respect. Finish off with the whole Spunion Family! Without em, it would just be another dream!
