We had the good fortune of connecting with Cory Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cory, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Without a doubt the single most important decision that got me where I am today was making the decision to leave a well paying job where I traveled the world, to pursue my goal of becoming a professional tattooer and be home with my family.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Getting where i am today was not easy. It took a lot of dedication, hard work, and good support system. I believe you get back the effort you put into things. i am constantly learning and wanting to grow as an artist.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
i would definitely take them to old county inn, in pine for wood fired pizza at some point. crosswinds is the restaurant at the small airport and has a great breakfast, we enjoy watching the planes. for dinner, drinks and nightlife, midtown yard in star valley is the place to be. one of our favorite things to do as a family is take our side-by-side out on the trails, and spend the day enjoying where we live. we are 10 minutes away from and the verde river if they like to fish and some of the best views of the rim. theres always wildlife to watch, an elk could likely be the cause of the morning traffic jam. Payson has been my home for over 30yrs, its a small town with a slower pace of life.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have had some amazing mentors. Jon Barwood and his wife Pinky of Sacred Skin Tattoo taught me the art of tattooing, as well as how to maintain a successful business, My wife told me to quit that job I hated and pursue my dream, she supports me in everything I do. i have 6 kids and 3 grandkids that keep me motived to set an example for them.
