Meet Charles | CEO of eTruism – a fashion nonprofit

We had the good fortune of connecting with Charles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Charles, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
eTruism is run solely by unpaid volunteers. Without their time and dedication to us as a nonprofit we wouldn’t be able to sell as many items as we do, and thus giveback to other nonprofits and the communities! So thank you all!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
eTruism was set up after seeing so many brand new fashion items and accessories dumped in LA by the fashion industry. There had to a solution to help stop these great items being discarded and stop landfills. eTruism was that solution! It is difficult to run a non-profit business with only non paid volunteers but we are determined to give all our proceeds back to charities and other organizations who can use these items!
Finding donors can be difficult but we do go pickups around the Phoenix and Los Angeles areas and also work directly with some charities when we get large shipments such as containers of shoes.
We are always looking for more, and varied donations, of brand new clothing and fashion accessory items. These can be from a small boutique who is going out of business, to large donations from wholesale fashion companies who stop manufacturing line items.
Spreading the word amongst friends and family, plus posting online and tagging us, when you buy a $5 or $10 item really helps us and therefore other charities!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A must see in the Phoenix Valley area is a new retail space called WEAR. Located at 711 W Broadway in Tempe.
WEAR is the brainchild of a nonprofit FABRIC who are an AZ Fashion Incubator. They help emerging designers successfully navigate the fashion industry and the new WEAR store is a collective of emerging, new and small local AZ Designers. eTruism also has a booth there with many items for sale at only $5 – we donate proceeds back to charities from these sales in AZ!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
eTruism would like to thank all their volunteers, models, photographer, social media interns, and donors! Without you all eTruism would not be able to help so many other charities and organizations.
