Meet Alexys Brandon | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexys Brandon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexys, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risk is really all about being in tune with God. For me, I’m a Christian, and I believe Jesus Christ to be my Lord and savior. So it’s called a leap of faith for me. And as long As I’m praying and listening to God, He will handle the rest. And so far it’s got me to this point I’m at now in my life, personally and professionally. Im grateful.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think the biggest lesson I have learned so far is to learn how to speak to people. To always lead with understanding. The way you talk to someone goes a long way. It’s so easy to be rude, but being kind in the midst of it all, genuinely kind, is a true test of character. Customer service is in everything we do, it’s worth investing in also if you know you aren’t the best person to give customer service. I pride myself on servicing my clients in a way I would for myself.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I would take her to Ritos Authentic Mexican food, their food is amazing and hits every time. We would go to Chic Chef restaurant, honestly we would eat at some amazing places. I’ll just say that. But also we would go to downtown Phoenix, and look at the new arena, and see how much has been built over time. Also go to Westgate, there’s a fun plaza out there. I’m a homebody so this question is a little difficult. But we would eat good that’s for sure. Haha.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my mom! In college I was all over the place, and I couldn’t decide what I wanted to get my degree in. When I finally started taking something seriously, it was film and photography. She was and still is so supportive. I got my BA from ASU, in 2013. And this camera has taken me to new heights. The amount of growth I have had is mind blowing. I thank my mom for being a beautiful example of what a supportive and loving parent is. I am the go getter, God fearing woman because of her. Thank you mom! I love you!
