We had the good fortune of connecting with Uniss Bundu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Uniss, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Since I was a kid I’ve always been interested in the world of creative arts. As a child I was super into drawing, painting and origami. Then later on in my early teen years I got into graphic design and was really committed to that for years. Later on in my late teens after I graduated high school, I decided to pursue a modeling/Acting career. I’ve always wanted to do that as a kid but never thought I could due to me having limited resources but that all changed once I got in touch with the right people in my local market.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In this current chapter of my life I am a Model and Actor, But I’ve been focusing a lot more on my modeling career lately. Dropping out of college to pursuing a modeling and acting career wasn’t the smoothest process for me, especially coming from a household that put education first. I had to deal with people in my life not believing me or not showing any support for my decision or anything I did. I just had to ignore them and push through and live me life for ME and not others. I learned that finding the right people who support you and want you to succeed is the best thing you can do for yourself. Surround yourself with like minded individuals and you’ll see growth in whatever it is you want to accomplish. I feel like what sets me apart from others is that I’m very versatile when it comes down to the type of photoshoots I do. I don’t like to do the same type of looks multiple times, that’s why no two shoot I’ve done look the same. I’m excited for what’s in store for me in 2023, I’ve got many big projects I’ve been working on and I can’t wait to show it off to the world!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shoutout Joecelynn (@jocelynns) and Gia (@gianerii) who are the owners of Corella & Co, A modeling development program where I learned the skills and built the connections to have a successful modeling career. I would also love to shoutout Shannon (@therealshannonlove) for being my modeling teacher for over a year and teaching me all the modeling techniques I know. They all pushed me to become the best version of myself and without these wonderful people I wouldn’t be where I am at in my career today!
