We had the good fortune of connecting with Pam Sherman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pam, what do you want people to remember about you?
That healthy living doesn’t have to be hard. Many people have the all or nothing mindset when it comes to food and fitness. If they can’t workout for an hour, they won’t. Or that eating healthy is too expensive or too hard.
Finding ways to add movement into your life is important for the rest of your life. A 10 minute workout is better than no workout every single time. Walking is vastly underrated in our country as is eating real food.
Our society is set up for us to be unhealthy. Door dash has become the norm unfortunately.
My approach is no nonsense and doable. Your health is your greatest wealth. Making time for it now is vital for your future. Do the basics daily. This includes some strength training- kitchen counter push ups is my favorite add in to people’s day. Go for a walk a few times a day. Prioritize protein and veggies at every single meal.
Basically, if your grandma would not recognize what you are eating, it should be a very once in a while food.
Putting time into yourself and your health is not selfish, it’s self care! Your 80 year old self thanks you for all the time you
exercise and eat well today!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It’s never an easy road to get to where you are today! I started off as a group exercise instructor and personal trainer. Those were my jobs when my kids were growing up. I could still be a mom and carpool for soccer as well as inspire women on their health journey. That all changed in 2017 when I was out for a run and got hit by a car. I truly believe the Universe was telling me to get out of the classroom and inspire more people! Because of some surgeries/recovering, I had to stop teaching and training. But, I started writing books(available on Amazon). There are now 8 books on health/wellness that are easy to read and have doable action steps.
After my recovery, I started reaching out to different companies and apps when I saw they didn’t have an over 50 trainer. Now I am a trainer on FitRadio, MaxPro, TerraCore, Helix and am making videos for Exxentric.
My coaches have pushed me to get out there and ask for more! As a result, I spoke at the Best You in London, was a regular guest on my local Fox40 show and have been on over 25 podcasts.
Because of all the exposure, I am able to reach people all over the world through social media with my tagline, your health is your wealth. Showing people that eating healthy doesn’t have to be hard, working out doesn’t have to be awful and taking care of yourself is not selfish, it’s self care!
I want the world to know that our health is the single most important thing we have. No one can take care of it for you. Every minute you spend on yourself and your health his worth it! Every minute spent is like putting coins into a piggy bank of health later on. Your future self thanks you for the time you spend making great choices now!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d drive them to San Francisco to show them the beautiful city by the Bay! Taking them to see the Golden Gate Bridge and get clam chowder in sourdough bread bowls and stopping by Ghiradelli Square is a must! Next stop would be Foster City. I grew up there in the 70’s and it’s my happy place. We’d drive around and I’d show her where I lived and what the city used to be like.
From there, we’d drive down to Monterey/Carmel! It’s such a beautiful place all year round. We’d visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium and walk downtown to Alvarado Street Brewing Company. They have amazing food and a fun atmosphere.
Carmel is a whole day adventure walking downtown into art galleries, clothes shops and any restaurant we choose would be fantastic.
A day in Carmel would not be complete without walking down to the ocean! Sitting on the sand or taking a walk is a must at this beautiful location.
To finish off the trip, we’d rent kayaks in Monterey and enjoy the wildlife- sea otters abound as do sea lions. It’s a peaceful and gorgeous way to spend a few hours.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband has been my #1 supporter for the last 27 years through so many ups and downs. My life and career has been like a roller coaster and he’s right by my side supporting me in every new direction that I take!
