Meet Kerrie Davis Howell | Nutrition and Lifestyle Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kerrie Davis Howell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kerrie, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work life balance is a challenge, especially when we are building a career, raising children, or even transitioning to a new season of life. The stress of juggling so many aspects of our life can impact our inner level of peace, joy and fulfillment.
I think, focusing on having balance in my life has become increasingly important as I age and as my Christian life matures. I am learning to trust which is “total reliance upon spiritual timing”. I have learned to be balanced in my relationship with my spouse, my children and grandkids, self-care, my spiritual life and my business. As long as I keep my focus on God and his plan for my life, all things will come together. And let’s face it, his plans are much greater and grander than anything I could imagine.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My brand is Freedom, Faith, and Food. My website is Freedomfaithandfood.com It’s what I am passionate about. I help others to break free from the addiction to food that does not serve them and help them with options to live a life of choice. My faith in God is who I am. It is woven into every breath and every step I take. And, it’s through my life that I can encourage others in their own spiritual faith journey. Food? Well, who doesn’t love food? I support and educate others on the function of food in their bodies. Let’s face it, food has the power to heal or the power to make us sick. It’s that simple. I love that I am able to encourage others to make simple changes with long-term benefits. Plus, I am able to show people how they can grow their own fruits and vegetables in their home on a vertical growing system. That is simple, Easy and Affordable. Yeah
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I am a sports nut and I love landscape – being out in nature. I would probably take them to see a Suns game or a spring training game at first. Next, I would take them to the Desert Botanical Gardens. I love great food so I would probably take them to an amazing vegan restaurant. There are so many choices!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am incredibly blessed to be surrounded by a community of like-minded individuals that are supported, and encouraging on all levels. This community embraces personal growth, and I have been mentored by many. I’ve attended personal growth, conferences, coached, read books, and been referred to the best in the industry!
If I had to choose one person who has mentored me, the most who I have felt a deep connection to it would be Chris Cotton. He always asked the deep questions that needed to be asked. Although sometimes it was uncomfortable, it was so necessary for growth and change. He always lived his life full of joy, out loud, and from his heart, he impacted me more than I could ever explain. He and his wife, Nikki are more like family, even though they started off as business partners and mentors that changed through the years. Chris passed away unexpectedly about a year ago and for a lot of us it left a big hole in our hearts. One of the things that is become our mantra is “come from love, and keep the love flowing“ that will stay with me forever.
