There’s a ton of research around how setting habits can help us conserve energy because it reduces the number of decisions we have to make in a day. However, not all habits are created equal and so we’ve asked our community to tell us about the habits they have been most effective for them.

Persistence and perseverance. Since I had already retired from the US Navy and at the age was when I started it was hard for me to get noticed as a serious photographer. People kept saying that it was a great hobby to pursue, I wanted more than that, I wanted it to be a whole new career. Trusting my gut is a big one. Becoming aware of my intuition regarding a situation and ignoring the nagging “should” mindset. The habit that I would say helped me succeed is my desire to put at least one ear or toe into everything. That was an interesting way to say it but by this I mean, I want to know about almost everything. Whether it be different art mediums or IT, sports, interior design, etc. I have probably either learned about it, submerged in it, or tested it out once.
